Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2023025748A1] The present invention relates to the use of a solid detergent composition for protecting skin microbiome. There is a need in the art to provide a laundry detergent composition that maintain or sustain at least some level of beneficial bacteria on skin surface. It is thus an object of the present invention to use a detergent composition to achieve protective effect on the good bacteria and commensal bacteria on the skin microbiome. We have now found that the use of a combination of 1 wt.% to 20 wt.% alkyl benzene sulphonate surfactant, a carbonate builder, 0 wt.% to 3 wt.% bleach system in a detergent composition having a pH from 9 to 12 provides for a detergent composition which is gentle on the good bacteria and/or commensal bacteria present on skin surface.
