According to the invention, a seal (10) is installed between statically installed parts, by means of which seal the gaps or cavities present can be closed, and movable parts which are guided from the flow duct (11) in the interior (14) of the planetary roller extruder (1) outwards towards the surroundings (16) are sealed with a mechanical face seal, so that shoulders and/or notches along the flow faces in the transition region of the movable parts are avoided.
