The ignition device provides for a sufficient amount of energy, and the volume in the ignition device is at the same time utilized particularly efficiently in that the battery housing (12) has a cup-shaped recess, and at least part of the at least one electric or electronic ignition-chain component (3, 4) is located in the cup-shaped recess.
