(54)Thrust bearing system with inverted non-contacting dynamic seals for gas turbine engine


(57) The present disclosure relates to a gas turbine engine and to a method of controlling a net thrust load on a thrust bearing. The gas turbine engine (20) includes a first non-contacting dynamic rotor seal (84A, 84B, 84C) interfaced with a spool (32), the first non-contacting dynamic seal (84A, 84B, 84C) operates to seal adjacent to an outer diameter and a second non-contacting dynamic rotor seal (86) with respect to the spool, the second non-contacting dynamic seal (86) operates to seal adjacent to an inner diameter.
