(57) An absorbent article (1) includes: an absorbent main body (10) including an absorbent body (121) and leak-proof walls (50) ; a front waist portion (20) ; and a back waist portion (30) . The absorbent body (121) includes a narrow portion (121n), and The leak-proof walls (50) each includes fixed portions (55) and rising portions (56). A one-side waist portion (20) is overlapped, in the up-down direction, with the narrow portion (121n) on the non-skin side of the narrow portion (121n) . Adhesive (121Ha, 121Hb) is applied to at least either one of a non-skin-side surface of a skin-side sheet portion (122a) of the absorbent main body (10) and a skin-side surface of a non-skin-side sheet portion (122b) of the absorbent main body (10). The application is made in a region that is outside the narrow portion (121n) and above a lower end of the one-side waist portion (20) . The fixed portions (55) are overlapped with the skin side of the absorbent body (10). When an intersection (121u) between the lower end of the one-side waist portion (20) and the side end (121s) of the narrow portion (121n) uses as a reference, a rise start portion (59) of the rising portion (56) is located outward in the left-right direction with respect to the intersection (121u).

[0001] The present invention relates to an absorbent article.

[0002] Absorbent articles such as pull-on disposable diapers are conventionally known. There is desire for a reduction in the cost of absorbent articles, and one method of lowering the cost of an absorbent article is a method of reducing the basis weight of liquid-absorbent fibers (e.g., pulp fibers) of the absorbent body (absorbent core), for example. As one example, PTL 1 discloses a technique of providing a constricted portion 5c in an absorbent core 5 of a pull-on disposable diaper 1 in order to reduce the size of the aggregate of fibers such as pulp fibers in the absorbent core 5, for example.

[0004] However, with the pull-on disposable diaper 1 in PTL 1, there are cases where excrement cannot be sufficiently absorbed by the absorbent core 5 that has a reduced amount of liquid-absorbent fibers, and there is a risk that excrement leaks from the pull-on disposable diaper 1.

[0005] The present invention was achieved in light of conventional problems such as that described above, and an aspect of the present invention is to reduce the amount of liquid-absorbent fibers or the like of the absorbent body while also further reducing the risk that excrement leaks from the absorbent article.

[Solution to Problem]



[0006]  A main aspect of the present invention for achieving the above-described aspect is an absorbent article having a up-down direction, a left-right direction, and a front-back direction that intersect each other,
the absorbent article including:

an absorbent main body including an absorbent body, a skin-side sheet portion, a non-skin-side sheet portion, and a pair of leak-proof walls,

the absorbent body having a superabsorbent polymer,

the skin-side sheet portion located on a skin side of the absorbent body,

the non-skin-side sheet portion located on a non-skin side of the absorbent body,

the pair of leak-proof walls each having a leak-proof-wall elastic member;

a front waist portion; and

a back waist portion,

the absorbent body including a narrow portion that has a left-right-direction side end having a recessed portion,

the leak-proof walls each including a fixed portion and a rising portion,

the fixed portion being not capable of rising to the skin side,

the rising portion being capable of rising to the skin side,

out of the front waist portion and the back waist portion,

at least one-side waist portion that is located on one side being overlapped with a non-skin side of the narrow portion,

Embodiments



[0037] The following describes embodiments of an absorbent article according to the present invention by way of example of a "pull-on disposable diaper". The pull-on disposable diaper of the present embodiment can be used for infants or adults. Also, besides a disposable diaper, the underpants-shaped absorbent article according to the present invention can be a shorts-type sanitary napkin, for example.

Basic configuration of pull-on disposable diaper



[0038] FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a pull-on disposable diaper 1 (hereinafter, also called the "diaper 1") . FIG. 2 is a schematic plan view of the diaper 1 in an unfolded and stretched state, as viewed from the skin-side surface. FIG. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along a line A-A in FIG. 2. The "unfolded state" is a state where side portions 20a of a front waist portion (also called the "stomach-side waist portion") 20 and side portions 30a of a back waist portion 30 (also called the "back-side waist portion") on the two sides of the diaper 1 are detached from each other and opened to lay the whole diaper 1 flat. The "stretched state" is a state where elastic members provided in the diaper 1 are stretched until wrinkles can no longer be seen in the diaper 1. Specifically, this is a state in which the diaper 1 is stretched until the dimensions of constituent members thereof (e.g., the later-described front waist portion 20) match or are close to the dimensions of such members on their own. A line C-C in FIG. 2 is the center line in the left-right direction. Adhesive is not shown in FIG. 3 for the sake of convenience.

[0039] As shown in FIG. 1, the pull-on diaper 1 has an up-down direction, a left-right direction, and a front-back direction, and the diaper 1 includes a waist opening BH and a pair of leg openings LH. In the up-down direction, the waist opening BH side is the upper side, and the side corresponding to the wearer's crotch is the lower side. The up-down direction of the diaper 1 in the state in FIG. 2 (unfolded and stretched state) will also be called the "longitudinal direction", one side and the other side in the longitudinal direction will also be respectively called the "front side" and the "back side", and the side corresponding to an approximately central portion C10 side in the longitudinal direction will also be called the "lower side". In the front-back direction, the side corresponding to the wearer's stomach is the front side, and the side corresponding to the wearer's back is the back side. The diaper 1 also has a thickness direction as shown in FIG. 3, and the side that comes into contact with the wearer in the thickness direction is the skin side, and the side opposite thereto is the non-skin side.

[0040] The diaper 1 is a so-called three-piece type of diaper, and has an absorbent main body 10, a front waist portion 20, and a back waist portion 30. The front waist portion 20 covers the wearer's stomach region, and the back waist portion 30 covers the wearer's back region. The absorbent main body 10 is approximately rectangular in a plan view. As shown in FIG. 3, a front upper end portion 10f and a back upper end portion 10b of the absorbent main body 10 are respectively overlaid on the skin-side surfaces of the waist portions 20 and 30. Note that the front upper end portion 10f is the front end portion of the absorbent main body 10, and is the portion that is overlapped with the waist portion 20. The back upper end portion 10b is the back-side end portion of the absorbent main body 10, and is the portion that is overlapped with the back waist portion 30. The front waist portion 20 and the back waist portion 30 are approximately rectangular in a plan view, and the longitudinal directions thereof conform to the left-right direction.

[0041] As shown in the unfolded state in FIG. 2, the shape of the diaper 1 has left-right symmetry about the center line C-C. The non-skin-side surfaces of the front upper end portion 10f and the back upper end portion 10b of the absorbent main body 10 are respectively joined to the skin-side surfaces of the waist portions 20 and 30 with use of an adhesive or the like (not shown) . Further, the absorbent main body 10 in the unfolded state shown in FIG. 2 is then folded one time such that the front waist portion 20 and the back waist portion 30 oppose each other, and two left-right-direction side portions 20a of the front waist portion 20 are joined to two left-right-direction side portions 30a of the back waist portion 30, thus obtaining the pull-on diaper 1.

[0042] The front waist portion 20 and the back waist portion 30 each include two soft sheets (21 and 21, 31 and 31) made of nonwoven fabric or the like, and respectively include multiple waist elastic members 22 and 32 (elastic strings or the like) that stretch and contract in the left-right direction. The waist elastic members 22 and 32 are arranged side-by-side with gaps therebetween in the up-down direction, and are fixed between the two corresponding sheets (21 and 21, 31 and 31) while being stretched in the left-right direction. The front waist portion 20 and the back waist portion 30 can therefore stretch and contract in the left-right direction, and fit to the wearer's waist.

[0043] FIG. 4A is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along a line B1-B1 in FIG. 2. FIG. 4B is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along a line B2-B2 in FIG. 2. FIG. 4C is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along a line B3-B3 in FIG. 2. In FIGS. 4A, 4B, and 4C, the dimensions of members have been changed as necessary in order to facilitate understanding of the configuration with respect to the thickness direction. As shown in FIGS. 4A, 4B, and 4C, the absorbent main body 10 includes a top sheet 11, an absorbent body unit 12, a back sheet 13, and an exterior sheet 14 in this order from the skin side in the thickness direction, and these members are adhered using an adhesive such as a hot-melt adhesive. The top sheet 11 may be any type of liquid-permeable sheet, and examples thereof include a hydrophilic air-through nonwoven fabric sheet and a spunbond nonwoven fabric sheet. The back sheet 13 may be any type of liquid-impermeable sheet, and examples thereof include a polyethylene film sheet, a polypropylene film sheet, and a hydrophobic SMS nonwoven fabric sheet. The top sheet 11 and the back sheet 13 have a size sufficient for covering the entirety of the absorbent body unit 12. The exterior sheet 14 may be a liquid-permeable sheet or a liquid-impermeable sheet, and one example thereof is a hydrophobic SMS nonwoven fabric sheet. It should be noted that leak-proof wall portions 50 are formed by the exterior sheet 14 in the present embodiment, and therefore it is preferable that the exterior sheet 14 is made of a liquid-impermeable material.

[0044] The absorbent body unit 12 is approximately rectangular in a plan view, and includes an absorbent core (also simply called the "absorbent body") 121 that absorbs liquids, and a core-wrapping sheet 122 that covers the outer peripheral surfaces of the absorbent core 121. As one example, the liquid absorbent material is made of liquid-absorbent fibers (e.g., pulp fibers) that contain a superabsorbent polymer (so-called SAP) . The core-wrapping sheet 122 is, for example, a liquid-permeable sheet made of tissue paper, nonwoven fabric, or the like.

[0045] The core-wrapping sheet 122 has skin-side adhesive portions 122Ha that are provided on a skin-side sheet portion 122a that is located on the skin side of the absorbent core 121, and non-skin-side adhesive portions 122Hb that are provided on a non-skin-side sheet portion 122b that is located on the non-skin side of the absorbent core 121. In the present embodiment, the skin-side adhesive portions 122Ha are provided over approximately the entirety of the skin-side sheet portion 122a, and the non-skin-side adhesive portions 122Hb are provided over approximately the entirety of the non-skin-side sheet portions 122b. However, it is not necessary that these adhesive portions Ha and Hb are provided over the entirety of the sheet portions 122a and 122b respectively. A configuration is possible in which at least either the skin-side sheet portion 122a or the non-skin-side sheet portion 122b is provided with the adhesive portions 122Ha or 122Hb. Also, in the present embodiment, a configuration is possible in which the skin-side adhesive portions 122Ha and the non-skin-side adhesive portions 122Hb are provided at least in a region that is above the lower end of the front waist portion 20 and outside a narrow portion 121n (described later). In other words, a configuration is possible in which the adhesive portions 122Ha or 122Hb are provided at least outward of the absorbent core 121 which includes the narrow portion 121n, in a region upward of the lower end of the front waist portion 20, as shown in FIG. 4B. Note that it is preferable that the skin-side sheet portion 122a and the non-skin-side sheet portion 122b are adhered to the absorbent core 121 to the extent that it is possible to mitigate the risk that separation of the sheet portions 122a and 122b from the absorbent core 121 cause a poor fit when the diaper is worn or cause a loss of the predetermined shape of the absorbent core 121.

[0046] The absorbent core 121 is obtained by shaping the liquid absorbent material into a predetermined shape. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 2, the longitudinal central portion of the absorbent core 121 is narrowed so as to have a shorter length in the left-right direction, thus forming a narrow portion 121n whose left-right-direction side ends 121s are recessed, and therefore the absorbent core 121 is approximately hourglass-shaped. The narrow portion 121n is formed so as to be more located on the front side than on the back side, and a narrowest portion 121m of the narrow portion 121n is located above the approximately longitudinal central portion C10. Claims

1. An absorbent article having a up-down direction, a left-right direction, and a front-back direction that intersect each other,
the absorbent article comprising:

an absorbent main body including an absorbent body, a skin-side sheet portion, a non-skin-side sheet portion, and a pair of leak-proof walls,

the absorbent body having a superabsorbent polymer,

the skin-side sheet portion located on a skin side of the absorbent body,

the non-skin-side sheet portion located on a non-skin side of the absorbent body,

the pair of leak-proof walls each having a leak-proof-wall elastic member;

a front waist portion; and

a back waist portion,

the absorbent body including a narrow portion that has a left-right-direction side end having a recessed portion,

the leak-proof walls each including a fixed portion and a rising portion,

the fixed portion being not capable of rising to the skin side,

the rising portion being capable of rising to the skin side,

out of the front waist portion and the back waist portion,

at least one-side waist portion that is located on one side being overlapped with a non-skin side of the narrow portion,

the at least one-side waist portion being overlapped in the up-down direction with at least a portion of the narrow portion,

an adhesive being applied to at least either one of a non-skin-side surface of the skin-side sheet portion and a skin-side surface of the non-skin-side sheet portion,
the application being made in a region that is outside the narrow portion and above a lower end of the one-side waist portion,

at least a portion of the fixed portion being overlapped with the skin side of the absorbent body,

when an intersection between the lower end of the one-side waist portion and the side end of the narrow portion uses as a reference,
a rise start portion of the rising portion being located outward in the left-right direction with respect to the intersection.


 
2. The absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein
the one-side waist portion has a waist elastic member that extends in the left-right direction, and
at least a portion of the waist elastic member straddles the side end of the narrow portion in the left-right direction.
 
3. The absorbent article according to claim 2, wherein
at least a portion of the waist elastic member intersects the leak-proof-wall elastic member.
 
4. The absorbent article according to claim 1, wherein
the one-side waist portion has a waist elastic member that extends in the left-right direction, and
in a stretched state where the waist elastic member and the leak-proof-wall elastic member are stretched,
concerning an upper recession end that is an upper end of a located-on-the-one-side and recessed portion of the side end,
the waist elastic member that is located below the upper recession end is not provided inward in the left-right direction with respect to the upper recession ends when the upper recession end uses as a reference.
 
5. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,

concerning an upper recession end that is an upper end of a located-on-the-one-side and recessed portion of the side end,

an up-down-direction length from the upper recession end to the lower end of the one-side waist portion

is longer than

a left-right-direction length from the upper recession end to an intersection between the lower end of the one-side waist portion and the side ends.


 
6. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,
concerning an upper recession end that is an upper end of a located-on-the-one-side and recessed portion of the side end,
a portion of the side end is inclined with respect to the up-down direction, the portion of the side end being located between the upper recession end and the lower end of the one-side waist portion.
 
7. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein
on the one side, an upper end of the narrow portion is located below a lower end of the fixed portion.
 
8. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,
an inner end of each of the leak-proof wall is located inward in the left-right direction with respect to the intersection.
 
9. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,

the leak-proof walls each have an adhesion portion for preventing rising of the fixed portion to the skin side, and

the adhesion portion is located inward with respect to the side ends of the absorbent body.


 
10. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,

the leak-proof walls each have an adhesion portion for preventing rising of the fixed portion to the skin side, and

the area of the adhesion portions is greater than the area of the fixed portions minus the area of the adhesion portions.


 
11. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein
the one-side waist portion has a plurality of waist elastic members that extend in the left-right direction, and
in a stretched state where the waist elastic members and the leak-proof-wall elastic member are stretched,

concerning a first waist elastic member that is one of the plurality of waist elastic members and that is located lowest in the one-side waist portion, and

concerning a second waist elastic member that is one of the plurality of waist elastic members and that is vertically adjacent to the first waist elastic member,
a length from the lower end of the one-side waist portion to the first waist elastic member is longer than a length between the first waist elastic member and the second waist elastic member.


 
12. The absorbent article according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein
in a stretched state where the leak-proof-wall elastic member is stretched,

the leak-proof-wall elastic member includes a first leak-proof-wall elastic member and a second leak-proof-wall elastic member in the rising portions, and

the first leak-proof-wall elastic member and the second leak-proof-wall elastic member are separated from each other.


 
13. An absorbent article having a up-down direction, a left-right direction, and a front-back direction that intersect each other,
the absorbent article comprising:

an absorbent main body including an absorbent body, a skin-side sheet portion, a non-skin-side sheet portion, and a pair of leak-proof walls,

the absorbent body having a superabsorbent polymer,

the skin-side sheet portion located on a skin side of the absorbent body,

the non-skin-side sheet portion located on a non-skin side of the absorbent body,

the pair of leak-proof walls each having a leak-proof-wall elastic member;

a front waist portion; and

a back waist portion,

the absorbent body including a narrow portion that has a left-right-direction side end having a recessed portion,

the leak-proof walls each including a fixed portion and a rising portion,

the fixed portion being not capable of rising to the skin side,

the rising portion being capable of rising to the skin side,

out of the front waist portion and the back waist portion,

at least one-side waist portion that is located on one side being overlapped with a non-skin side of the narrow portion,

the at least one-side waist portion being overlapped in the up-down direction with at least a portion of the narrow portion,

at least a portion of the fixed portion being overlapped with the skin side of the absorbent body,

the one-side waist portion having a waist elastic member that extends in the left-right direction,

when an intersection between the lower end of the one-side waist portion and the side end of the narrow portion uses as a reference,
a rise start portion of the rising portion being located outward in the left-right direction with respect to the intersection,

at least a portion of the waist elastic member straddling the side end of the narrow portion in the left-right direction.
