(54)METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR STARTING A TURBOCOMPOUNDED ENGINE


(57) A method for starting a turbocompounded engine system (10) having an internal combustion engine (12) and a turbomachinery (14) driving a load (18), the method comprising mechanically disengaging the internal combustion engine (12) from at least one of the load (18) and/or the turbomachinery (14) before starting the internal combustion engine (12). The engine (12) is allowed to warm up and then the engine (12) is re-engaged with the at least one of the load (18) and the turbomachinery (14).
