(54)METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING TREATMENTS BY MODIFYING PATIENT-SPECIFIC GEOMETRICAL MODELS


(57) A computer-implemented method for modifying a three-dimensional model based on one or more treatment options for a patient creates a three-dimensional geometric model representing at least a portion of the patient's heart or vasculature based on patient-specific data regarding a geometry of the patient's heart or vasculature, and modifies the three-dimensional geometric model of original patient arterial geometry to simulate a treatment option by combining a surface mesh of that model with a mesh representing proposed treated arterial geometry according to the treatment option, or by deforming the surface mesh of the three-dimensional geometric model around the explicit or implicit shape representing the proposed treatment option.
