    (54) Stabilizing device for large sunshade supporting tables

    (57) The stabilizing device comprises a box-like body (1), of preferably square plan, provided, at the upper side thereof, with a central hole (2) and an offset opening (3) effective to be closed and being provided, at the lower or bottom surface thereof, with seats (5) intended for housing corresponding tubular elements (9) crossing one another at the basement of - the sunshade supporting small table and intended for lying under the stabilizing device.

    Description

    [0001] The present invention relates to a stabilizing device effective to be applied to the base of a particular table for large sunshades.

    [0002] As it is well known,in order to provide protection against the sun rays in outdoor environment such as gardens and the like there are presently used the so-called large sunshades or umbrella,that is large size umbrellas of gaudy colours.

    [0003] Also well known is the fact that the mentioned large sunshades may be advantageously supported by a small table,provided with a central throughgoing hole and a lower engaging seat or housing effective to jointly restrain,with a vertical attitude, the rod or shaft of said sunshades.

    [0004] It should be noted to this respect that, because or the large surface of the sunshade top or dome, the latter, in case of a strong wind,greatly stresses by flexure the bearing rod which, as it is conventional,is supported only at the lower section thereof.

    [0005] Accordingly the supporting table or basement,which is generally made starting from metal tubular elements and has reduced size,is susceptible to being upset, jointly to the sunshade itself.

    [0006] Accordingly,the task of the present invention is that of overcoming the thereinabove mentioned drawback,by providing a stabilizing device,effective to be applied to the base of a particular large sunshade supporting small table in such a way as to prevent said small table from upsetting under strong wind conditions.

    [0007] Within this task, it is a primary object of the present invention to also provide a specifically designed base or basement for large sunshade supporting tables,which is constructed in such a way as to be able of perfectly fitting to the mentioned stabilizing device.

    [0008] According to one aspect of the present invention the above task and object,as well as yet other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter,are achieved by a stabilizing device effective to be applied to the basement of a particular large size sunshade supporting small table,characterized in that it comprises a box-like body,of preferably quadrangular plan,provided,at the upper side thereof, with a central hole and an eccentric or offset opening, effective to be closed and being provided,at the lower or bottom surface thereof,with seats provided for housing corresponding tubular elements crossing one another at the basement of said small table and intended for lying under said stabilizing device.

    [0009] Further characteristics and advantages of the stabilizing device and the basement of the large size sunshade supporting small table according to the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description,with reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings, where :

    fig.1 is a top perspective view illustrating the stabilizing device according to the present invention;

    fig.2 is a bottom perspective view illustrating that same stabilizing device;

    fig.3 illustrates a large sunshade bearing small table,provided with a.specifically designed basement or base,as coupled to the mentioned stabilizing device;

    fig.4 illustrates a small table,comprising the subject stabilizing device and the mentioned base or basement.

    [0010] With reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings,the subject stabilizing device effective to be applied to the basement of a particular large sunshade supporting small table comprises a box-like body 1,having a square plan and preferably made of a suitable plastics material.

    [0011] That box-like body is provided,at the top side or face thereof,with a round central hole 2,having a slightly rised edge,and with an opening 3,as formed at an offset position.

    [0012] That opening is also preferably provided with a round cross-section and defines a seat effective to hold a closure cover member 4.

    [0013] At the side corners of the mentioned box-like body,there are formed corresponding semicylindrical hollows 5,vertically extending and having suitable lengths,effective to partially house the lower portions of the legs 6 of a small table 7,the top surface whereof is provided with a central through hole 8.

    [0014] Advantageously,the mentioned semicylindrical seats house the lower portions of corresponding tubular elements or feet 9,which latter are bent crosswise, under seats 13 as formed on the lower side of that same box-like body 1.

    [0015] At the middle of the lower side or face, moreover,there is formed a substantially cylindrical seat 10,facing inwardly with respect to the box-like body and effective to restrain laterally and at the bottom the end of the rod or shaft 11 of the large sunshade 12.

    [0016] Obviously, the base of the mentioned seat 10 will be provided with a flat or frustumconical shape,in such a way as to fit said end of the sunshade rod or shaft 11.

    [0017] The box-like body l,in actual practice, is filled,through the opening 3,with sand or water, to assume a great weight thereby efficiently prevent the small table from being upset, as it is in its operative condition supporting the large sunshade.

    [0018] From the above disclosure and the observation of the figures of the accompanying drawings,the great functionality and use facility characterizing the large sunshade supporting table basement accprding to the present invention will be self-evident.

    Claims

    1- A stabilizing device effective to be applied to the basement of a particular large size sunshade supporting small table,characterized in that it comprises a box-like body(l),of preferably quadrangular plan,provided,at the upper side thereof,with a central hole (2) and an eccentric or offset opening (3) effective to be closed and being provided,at the lower or bottom surface thereof,with seats(5) provided for housing corresponding tubular elements (9) crossing one another at the basement of said small table and intended for lying under said stabilizing device.
