(54) Security device

(57) A security seal comprises an integral metal strip (1) formed by stamping and a clear plastics box (22) secured to a bent-over end portion of the strip. To use the seal the free end (3) of the strip is thrust into the slot (21) defined between the bent-over portions, and is then pulled back. This causes projection (14) to bend the tongue (5) up into an aperture (11) in the strip thereby preventing withdrawal of the end 3. Subsequent thrusting in of the end (3) is limited because projections extending from the side of the aperture (11) opposite the projection (14) catch holes (8) formed in the tongue (5).
