(54) Dispensing taps


(57) Taps (12) for "bag-in-the-box" containers (10) for beverages are disclosed.
The tap according to the invention has a body (16) and a spigot (32), and the inner end (20) of the tap body is sealed (at 22). The spigot is arranged to puncture or displace the seal (22) upon the first operation of the tap.
The seal (22) may be a frangible diaphragm to be ruptured or removed by rotating the spigot which is formed with an obliquely-angled inner end (36).
