    (57) This specification discloses an orifice plate (12) provided with openings capable of defining discharge ports (13) for discharging the ink of a recording head (11) carried on an ink jet recording apparatus, characterized by the provision of positioning portions (14) usable for the positioning of the discharge ports (13) in the ink jet recording apparatus. The specification also discloses an ink jet recording head using such orifice plate (12), and an ink jet recording apparatus carrying the head (11) thereon.
