    (54) Mechanical device for sewing machines for slack-stitching


    (57) The object of the patent application is a mechanical device which enables sewing machines to produce slack stitching, so that two edges sewn together have a certain degree of play and can settle into position.
    The above described device places a pin between the top thread of the stitching and the two pieces being sewn together at the moment each stitch is being formed, so as to prevent the stitch from being unduly tightened, and consequently, once the pin has been retracted, a slack stitch is obtained.
