Aqueous silicone emulsions |
(57) The present invention relates to silicone oil-in-water emulsions which are prepared
by dispersing an oil phase, containing a silicone polymer and a specific non-ionic
surfactant, in a water phase containing a poly(vinyl alcohol) dissolved in water.
Since they require only a low amount of volatile organic solvent, the emulsions are
suitable as coating compositions which are compliant with the Environmental Protection
Agency's (EPA) Rule 24, for example.
