[0001] The invention relates to a carrying case, and more particularly to a carrying case
which can be easily assembled by the users.
[0002] Typical carrying cases comprise a plurality of panels, lugs, ears, plates, etc.,
which are assembled and fixed together by the manufacturers who spend a lot of time
for assembling, fixing and adhering the parts together so as to form the carrying
cases. This greatly increases the manufacturing costs thereof. In addition, the users
may not assemble the carrying cases by themselves.
[0003] The invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages
of the conventional carrying cases.
[0004] The objective of the invention is to provide a carrying case which includes a simplified
configuration and can be easily assembled by the users.
[0005] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a case arrangeable
in a single plane comprising a back wall, a cover, a top wall secured between the
back wall and the cover and folded to be perpendicular to the back wall and the cover
respectively, two side panels oppositely hinged to the back wall and each foldable
to form a column, at least one first slot formed between the back wall and each of
the side panels, a front wall, a bottom wall secured between the back wall and the
front wall and folded to be perpendicular to the back wall and the front wall respectively,
the front wall including a pair of bands oppositely formed therein and secured to
the columns respectively, and each of the bands including at least one ear extended
therefrom for engaging with the first slot so as to secure the front wall to the columns,
whereby, a space is formed between the back wall and the front wall for receiving
objects.
[0006] Further objectives and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a careful
reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference
to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a plane view of a sheet material which can be easily folded and assembled
to form the carrying case;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating the folding processes of the carrying case;
and
FIGS. 3 and 4 are perspective views illustrating the carrying case which has been
assembled, in which a panel of the carrying case as shown in FIG. 3 is folded inward
of the carrying case, and the panel of that shown in FIG. 4 is folded outward.
[0007] Referring to the drawings, a carrying case is made of or arrangeable in a sheet material
as shown in FIG. 1, the sheet material is preferably made of plastic materials, rubber
materials, or any other suitable artificial materials, or of a piece of paper having
one surface coated with transparent plastic film which forms a protective and waterproof
surface.
[0008] The sheet material comprises generally a back wall 10, a cover 12, two side panels
20, 30, a front wall 40, and a front panel 60 hinged to one another for being folded
from a common plane mode so as to form the carrying case, a top wall 14 provided between
the back wall 10 and the cover 12 and folded such that the top wall 14 is perpendicular
to the back wall 10 and the cover 12 respectively, a securing means, such as VELCRO
strip 16 secured to the cover 12. Each of the side panels 20, 30 includes two folded
lines 21, 22, 31, 32 formed therein such that the side panels 20, 30 are separated
into three strips which are folded to form a hollow column within which pens or pencils
can be received, best shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, in which the three strips of the side
panel 20 include different length and the strips of the other side panel 30 include
an identical length, an ear 23, 33 folded to form the bottom of the respective column,
a flap 34 and a lug 35 provided on the side panel 30 distal from the ear 33 so as
to form a cover for covering the top of the column formed by the side panel 30. Two
slots 26, 36 are formed between the back wall 10 and the side panels 20, 30 respectively;
and a bottom wall 18 coupled between the front wall 40 and the back wall 10 and folded
such that the bottom wall 18 is perpendicular to the back wall 10 and the front wall
40 respectively.
[0009] The front wall 40 includes a pair of bands 41 formed on the side portions thereof
each having two ears 42 extended outward therefrom for engaging in the slots 26, 36
so as to secure the front wall 40 to the columns, it is preferable that the bands
41 are fixed to the columns by adhesive materials; a space is thus formed between
the front wall 40 and the back wall 10, within which documents or papers can be accommodated.
Three slots 44 are formed between the front wall 40 and the bottom wall 18, two pairs
of slots 45 are formed in the front wall 40, and two pairs of doors 47, 48 are formed
in the front wall 40 and each has one edge hinged to the front wall 40, in which the
doors 48 are located closer to the front panel 60. An upper wall 50 is formed between
the front wall 40 and the front panel 60 and includes two lugs 52, 53 secured to the
doors 48 respectively, and several holes 54 formed between the lugs 52, 53.
[0010] The front panel 60 includes three engaging members 61 provided on the edge distal
from the upper wall 50 for engaging with the slots 44 when the front panel 60 is turned
outward as shown in FIG. 4. Two pairs of flaps 62 are provided on the side portions
of the front panel 60 for engaging with the slots 45 of the front wall 40 such that
the front panel 60 may be formed either outside of the front wall 40 (FIG. 4) or inside
of the front wall 40 (FIG. 3). A securing means 49, 64 is disposed on the front wall
40 and the front panel 60 respectively for engaging with the securing means 16 of
the cover 12 such that the carrying case can be easily assembled. The space formed
between the front wall 40 and the front panel 60 can be provided for accommodating
stationery goods which can be inserted into the space from the doors 47, 48.
[0011] Accordingly, the carrying case includes a simplified configuration and can be easily
assembled by the users.
