(54) Orienting system for the inclination of a sun blind

(57) This invention is particularly related to the technological field of external solar protections. Existing extendible sun blinds are provided with an adjusting system allowing an inclination of max. 45°. This operation is to be performed separately for each of the two arms. The novelty consists in making the square bar (1) acting as a support for the arms (2) (with no adjusting system) no longer a static element, but a support capable of rotating around its own axis, thus allowing an inclination of up to 90°. This result is obtained through a rotating device which directly operates the square bar (1) allowing the blind to be orientated. This innovation helps the final user of this product, who can obtain the best shielding depending on his/her own requirements, the seasonal period, or else according to the amount of solar irradiation.

Description

[0001] The building technique of the existing sun blinds with a so-called arm-structure can be described as follows:

[0002] Two or more brackets fixed to the wall or to the ceiling support a square section, the length of which is the same as the breadth of the front of the blind. On this section, two or more double-jointed arms are fixed at specific distances with suitable connections for the square section.

[0003] On the joint which is linked to the square bar the arms are provided with a system allowing the adjusting of the inclination, usually on a range of max. 45°. However, this operation is to be performed only by the installer according to the Customer's needs.

[0004] In fact, it is not possible for the average user to make these adjustments on his own, and this is made even more complicated in that the operation must be carried out separately for each arm, in order to align the blind.

[0005] The new concept consists in making the square bar (1) to which the arms (2) are fixed not only a static support, but also an element capable of rotating around its own axis.

[0006] Equipped with special brackets (3) provided with self-lubricating revolving bushes (4), the square bar (1) goes through the two central brackets and through a square-holed hub connected to a couple of levers (5).

[0007] At the end of these levers a bolt is inserted which has a transverse thread (6) and a threaded stem (7) axially inserted in-between the brackets (3), the bottom of which is provided with an eye allowing one to adjust the rotation up to a range of 90°.

[0008] In this way one can perform the adjustment of the system by moving both arms at the same time - and therefore moving the whole blind, by means of an ordinary hooked rod.

[0009] This new device allows an easy adjustment of the blind inclination by simplifying the articulated connection of the arms to the square bar, thus eliminating the present inclination-adjusting device which operates on each arm.

[0010] The scope of this invention is to allow the final user to easily adjust the blind inclination according to his/her own requirements and to the time or the season, without being obliged to call for the installer.

[0011] The field to which this invention relates is the field of solar protections.

Claims

1. The main characteristic of the present invention consists in the system operating the square bar (1). This is inserted in the hub with levers (4), which are in turn supported by special brackets (3) and bushes (4). The ends of these levers are crossed by a threaded-holed bolt (6).
The moving of the square bar (1) on a range of 90° is obtained through an operating screw (7) axially linked to the brackets (3).
The bottom of the operating screw (7) is provided with a hooking system - a simple eye for a hooked rod or another type of hooking for electric or manual operations.

2. Other fundamental features are the fixing brackets (3), provided with self-lubricating bushes (4) : they not only serve as supports to the square bar, but also as bearings, thus allowing an easy rotation.
