(54) Multi-purpose folding tool


(57) A multi-purpose folding tool is disclosed, comprising: a pliers (12) having a pair of crossed jaws (18, 20), each of said jaws of said pliers comprising a gripping end (14), a pivot bearing (30, 36), and a tang (32, 38), said jaws being rotatably connected to each other by a jaw pivot pin (26) extending through each of said jaw pivot bearings (30, 36); a pair of handles (22, 24), each of said handles comprising: a pair of upstanding sidewalls (64, 66) integrally connected by a web (68), said sidewalls and said web forming a U-shaped channel (70) open outwardly from the plane of said handles (22, 24); a channel pivot pin (78) journaled in said sidewalls transverse of said channel adjacent said free end of said handle; and a plurality of supplemental tools (76) pivotally mounted on said channel pivot pin (78), each of said supplemental tools being individually rotatable between a closed position within said channel (70) and an open position extending from said channel.
