Ornament with decorative elements threaded on a flexible strap |
(57) An ornamental manufactured article obtained with a flexible flat body of the type
known as "Omega" used for the manufacture of necklaces, bracelets and in general jewelry
articles. The manufactured article is characterized by the fact that each small ring
(3) which is threaded on the cloth (2) to form the flat body (1) of the "Omega" type
has one portion with a thickness substantially greater than the-remainder and precious
stones (6) are set in this portion of greater thickness.
|
|
[0001] The present invention relates to manufactured articles constituted by a flexible
flat body commercially known as the "Omega" type equipped with precious stones for
the production of necklaces, bracelets and in general articles of jewelry.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In the jewelry field, the flat body of the "Omega" type is constituted by a strip
of cloth made of interwoven gold filaments; on the cloth are threaded square, flatted
or half-rounded rings. This material is subsequently subjected to pressure and other
operations which confer to the finished article physical characteristics of gloss
and consistency.
[0003] According to the present state of the art, the small rings which are threaded on
the strip of cloth have a closed profile and a very thin thickness. In more detail
each ring is constituted by a body essentially in the shape of a "C" on which is soldered
a flat lamina to achieve the closed section of the same small ring.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide the setting of precious stones
on the external surface of the article to confer to the article a further ornamental
characteristic, an object which up to the present has not been obtained in similar
products. In particular, the invention provides that the portion of the small rings
which is involved in setting the stones, which may be precious and non-precious stones, has
a thickness substantially greater with respect to the thickness of the remaining profile.
Constructively, for clearly economical reasons, the portion of the small ring which
must have a thickness substantially greater is the flat portion because it has a development
substantially smaller with respect to the shaped component having the shape of a "C".
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] Further details and characteristics of the invention will be more clear in the description
of one possible embodiment which is provided only by way of example and is not intended
to be limiting. as shown in the accompanying drawings:
- FIG. 1
- is a perspective view of the article of the invention partially in cross-section;
- FIG. 2
- is a view of the article of Fig. 1 in transversal cross-section;
- FIG. 3
- is a perspective view of a possible external shape of the finished article of the
invention.
[0006] As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the flexible flat body of the "Omega" type (1) is constituted
by a strip of cloth (2), the cloth having warp and weft. The cloth has interwoven
filaments of precious or non-precious material. On the cloth are threaded small rings
(3) which are square, flatted or half-rounded. Subsequently, the article thus obtained
is subjected to a pressure operation. The novelty of the article according to the
invention resides in the fact that a portion (4) which corresponds to one of the two
greater sides of the ring has a thickness substantially greater with respect to the
remaining portion (5) thus allowing the insertion of precious stones (6).
[0007] By way of example, it should be noted that if the portion having a smaller thickness
in the range of 25/100 mm the portion which supports the setting of the stones is
in the order of 1 mm.
[0008] It should also be noted that the type, the number and the disposition of the precious
stones which may be glossy or other stones, the section of the platform which may
be flat or convex and the operation of setting of the stones do not constitute the
object being claimed in the present application.
1. An ornamental manufactured article constituted by a flexible flat body commercially
known as "Omega" type, for the production of necklaces, bracelets and in general jewelry
articles which comprises a flat body of the "Omega" type (1) constituted by a strip
of cloth (2), the cloth having warp and weft, a plurality of rings (3) being threaded
on the cloth, said rings being square, flatted or half-rounded, each of said rings
having a first portion (4) and a second portion (5), said portion (4) having a thickness
substantially greater than thickness of said portion (5), a plurality of precious
and non-precious stones (6) being set in said portion (4).
2. The article according to claim 1 wherein said portion (5) has a thickness of 25/100
mm and said portion (4) has a thickness of 1 mm.
