[0001] The invention relates to locking means, particularly for closing frames, like doors,
or windows.
[0002] The prior art includes composable locks provided with a first component, named "base
lock", or case, out of which vertical bolts and one or more horizontal bolts extend
laterally.
[0003] The horizontal bolts are suitable to be held by corresponding cavities obtained into
a surface defining a seat in a wall which the door is intended to close.
[0004] The vertical bolts are coupled to rods which are vertically sliding and are held,
at an end opposing that where they are coupled to the bolts, by cavities in the surface
of the wall cavities and to the ground.
[0005] The lock shows a second component, named "nucleus for double map key", or auxiliary
frame, suitable to be coupled to the base lock at a middle region thereof.
[0006] Such second component includes a rigid plate which is permanently fixed to the base
lock through suitable fastening means. The above mentioned plate has a slot suitable
for receiving a double map key and which can operate, through a transmission mechanism,
the bolts in order to engage them into, or disengage them from, the respective cavities.
[0007] Locks of this type are described in IT-A-01295464, or in IT-U-210493.
[0008] The manufacturers of such locks furnish to the installation yards doors with base
lock already mounted and nucleus for double map key, with a yard key, so that, in
the space where the doors must be mounted, it can be verified that the bolts are correctly
held by the respective cavities.
[0009] A set of double map nucleus, suitable to be mounted in the final installation, is
then offered to the end user, with respective keys.
[0010] In this way, it is possible to avoid keeping in the the keys, or improperly reproduce
the shape thereof for illicit purposes.
[0011] As an alternative, it is possible to install locks with nucleus for cylinder key,
which nevertheless require a typical structure different from the structure of the
locks which mount nuclei for double map keys.
[0012] It is an object of the present invention to widen the range of locks provided with
components independent from each other.
[0013] In an aspect of the present invention, closing means is provided including a first
component provided with bolts and a second component which can be removably coupled
to said first component, characterized in that said second component is suitable to
fixedly receive a cylinder lock nucleus.
[0014] In particular, means for closing frames is provided including a first component suitable
to be mounted on a door and provided with bolts designed to releasably engage to corresponding
cavities obtained in a surface defining a wall space suitable to be closed by a frame,
and a second component that can be removably coupled to said first component and provided
with an opening for a lock nucleus, characterized in that said opening is suitable
to fixedly receive a cylinder lock nucleus.
[0015] In a second aspect of the present invention, a locking set is provided including
a lock body with a plate provided with an opening in which a cylinder lock nucleus
can be inserted.
[0016] In a third aspect of the present invention, a first component for closing means is
provided including bolts and operating means thereof, and provided with a hollow seat
to hold indifferently a second component for either a cylinder, or a double map nucleus.
[0017] In a fourth aspect of the present invention, a component is provided which can be
equipped with cylinder nucleus mountable into a seat of another component of locking
means, said other component being provided with hollow seat means for conventional
double map nucleus.
[0018] In this way, it is possible to provide a cylinder lock with the advantage of having
two components releasable one from the other.
[0019] A further advantage consists in making possible the adoption of a unified structure
for locks which can be equipped indifferently with a nucleus for a cylinder key, or
a nucleus for double map key.
[0020] That allows to obtain a greater versatility in use, because the end user can choose,
when installation takes place, or even later, which type of key he will adopt.
[0021] Furthermore, this makes locka manufacturing considerably easier, because the need
of manufacturing different lock bodies for the locks with nucleus for cylinder key
and locks with nucleus for double map key is avoided.
[0022] The invention will be better understood and carried into practice with reference
to the drawings attached, which show, purely by way of non limiting example, an embodiment
thereof.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of a set including a nucleus according to the invention,
a type Yale cylinder and a corresponding key;
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a kit including a set of nuclei of Figure 2;
Figure 4 shows, in perspective exploded view, the base lock of Figure 1 and the nucleus
of Figure 2, with the nucleus close to a region of the base lock associated thereto;
Figure 5 is a perspective view similar to that of Figure 4, but of a lock with nucleus
for double map key;
Figure 6 is a perspective view of a set including a nucleus for double map key, with
the relative key;
Figure 7 is a perspective view of a kit of the nucleus for double map key, with respective
key, of Figure 6.
[0023] Means for locking frames is suitable to be mounted on a door (not shown) designed
to close a space obtained in a wall.
[0024] The means for locking frames includes a first component 2 provided with a frame body
4 to which bodies of vertical bolts 6 are associated coupled to rods (not shown) vertically
sliding and suitable to be received in respective ends opposed to that where they
are coupled to the vertical bolts 6, by cavities obtained in a horizontal surface
of a cross-bar of the wall space, and to the floor.
[0025] The frame body 4 is furthermore suitable to slidably support a plurality 8 of horizontal
bolts 10. These are suitable to be received by corresponding cavities obtained in
a vertical surface of the wall space.
[0026] The first component 2 shows a central hollow region 12 designed to be interested
by a second component 14 which is associated to the frame body 4 through suitable
fasten means.
[0027] The second component 14 includes a rigid plate 16 which shows an opening 18 whose
boundary corresponds to the boundary of a Yale type cylinder 20.
[0028] Thus, a cylinder lock is provided in which it is possible to mount a first component
2 in the door, and, at a later time, a second component 14 which can be sold, together
with a suitable number of analogous components, in a suitable kit 22.
[0029] Manufaturers of such types of locks provide installation yards doors with first component
2 already mounted and nucleus for double map key, with a yard key, so that, in the
room where the doors must be mounted, it is possible to verify that the bolts 6 and
10 are correctly received by the respective hollows.
[0030] For each door, the end user could choose to buy a second component 14, with respective
cylinder 20 and key 24, or a nucleus, with respective double map key.
[0031] At any moment, the end user could decide to pass from a lock with double map key
to a lock with cylinder key, and vice versa, by simply buying a second component 14
of the selected type to be mounted in the central region 12 from which the second
component to be substituted was previously removed. In other words, as shown in the
Figures 5, 6 and 7, a further second component 34 can be inserted in the same hollow
central region 12 of the frame body 4 from which the second component 14 originally
mounted was removed.
[0032] The further second component 34 shows a corresponding further plate 36 with a further
opening 38 for insertion therein of a key 40 of the double map type.
[0033] The further second component 34 can be enclosed in a further sealed kit 42.
[0034] The constructive and operating details of the second component 14 and of the further
second component 34 are well known to the skilled person and therefore are not illustrated,
neither described in greater detail.
