(54) Electronically actuated trigger mechanism for compressed gas powered weapons or the like


(57) A compressed gas powered gun (10) includes an electronic actuator (114, 116, 118, 156) to achieve greater efficiency in the operation of the gun. The electronic actuator is operative to control movement of a bolt assembly (88) between a sealing position in which it seals a firing chamber (36) for compressed gas, and an unsealing position in which the gas in the firing chamber (36) is released to launch a projectile from the gun. The electronic actuator may also move a flow valve (74) controlling communication between the firing chamber (36) and a source of compressed gas. The gun is operable in either a manually operating mode or an electronically operating mode.
