(57) The invention refers to a boat propulsion equipment having a theft-propulsion device.
The invention aims to facilitate the handling of such a boat propulsion means. This objective is achieved by a boat propulsion equipment having a theft-prevention device comprising a key having a characteristic identification code, a key cylinder which has a first key position in which the key can be inserted and removed and a second key position, which is arrived at by operating the key from this first key position, in which the characteristic identification code can be read, and a controller adapted to compare the characteristic identification code read at the said second key position with the predetermined reference code, and to allow the engine of the propulsion equipment to be started only when it matches the reference code.
