Technical Field
[0001] The invention concerns a pivoted bridge drainer which is one of the ensembles of
devices used to drain off the bridges.
State of the Prior Art
[0002] Until now, the solution of vertical rectification of a bridge drainer is known i.e.
by making use of equalizing rectification frames which are 10, 15, or 20 mm high,
according to the Czech application of invention PV 1955 - 3162.
[0003] Further, the solution of drainer locking up is known in which there are locks in
both boundary rips, with said locks engaging in cavities in a frame. Disadvantageously
the grate can spring out off the frame easily e.g. if several vehicles are passing
over one after another.
[0004] In this device the grate tilting out is not solved and therefore the grate must always
be taken out by elevating and located on near-by ground.
[0005] In hitherto known solutions the drainer position could not be regulated after inaccurate
embedding or for prospective building modifications. This was due to invariable position
of an embedded grate with a frame.
Disclosure of the Invention
[0006] A pivoted bridge drainer consisting of basic parts i.e. of a trough, a pot, a frame
with corner bevels, and of a grate.
[0007] The essence of the invention consists therein that a rectangular trough is equipped
with a drain opening and in said plate a rectangular pot is located which has a circular
hole amidst to clamp a dirt pan. In the pot a frame with corner bevels is placed in
which a grate is embedded. Its shape equals that of the frame with the grate rips
being shortened at both ends in the middle part of the grate. On one shorter grate
side the rip is equipped with a lock which engages in a cavity in the frame whereas
on the second shorter grate side the rip is equipped with pivot hinges. In these,
circular profiles are made to insert a bar persistently by means of which the grate
is joined durably to the frame on the basis of a pivot hinge. On outer rims of the
pot there is a flange with drain holes and the flange shoulder is shaped round the
drain opening.
[0008] Further, the essence consists therein that the persistently joined assembly of the
grate with the frame can rotate in maximum extent of ± 15° in horizontal direction.
[0009] The persistently joined assembly of the grate with the frame can be shifted by 60
mm at most in transversal and/or longitudinal directions. The corner bevels of the
frame can be shaped so that they abut on the longer internal pot wall when the assembly
is being regulated to the maximum rotation limit of 15°.
[0010] Advantageously, the pot and the frame with the grate are designed so that the frame
with the grate can be rotated horizontally and bilaterally up to ± 15° in the pot.
The transversal and longitudinal position rectification is limited by the rotation
extent i.e. there can be maximum shift of 60 mm.
[0011] The pivoted bridge drainer can be used advantageously in cases where an adjacent
kerbstone changes its direction with respect to the longitudinal axis of the carrying
structure.
[0012] The device can be used to advantage where the kerbstone edge direction is intended
to be changed in future. The proposed device design enables to change the transversal,
longitudinal, rotary, or even vertical positions of bridge drainer i.e. if necessary.
Survey of Figures
[0013] In Fig. 1 there is a cross section of the device, in Fig. 2 the ground plan of the
device is represented with indication of plan rotation of the grate with the frame.
[0014] In Fig. 3 there is a grate ground plan, in Fig. 4 there is a ground plan of the frame
with corner bevels and in the Fig 5 there is a pot ground plan. In the Fig. 6 the
pivot hinge detail is represented.
Example on the Invention Embodiment
[0015] The pivoted bridge drainer consists of four main parts: of the plate
9, the pot
10, the frame
22 with corner bevels, and of the grate
2. In the rectangular trough
9 there is a drain opening
14 in which the rectangular pot
10 is located which has a circular hole
20 in its centre. Here the dirt pan
21 for led-off water is located.
[0016] In the pot
10 the frame
22 is situated in which the grate
2 is embedded. The peripheral shape of the grate
2 equals the shape of the frame
22 whereas the rips
7 of the grate
2 are shortened on both ends in the central part. On one of the shorter sides of the
grate
2 the rip
7 is equipped with a lock
27 which engages in a cavity
6 made in the frame
22.
[0017] On the second shorter side of the grate
2 the rip
7 is equipped with pivot hinges
23 in which circular profiles are made to insert the bar
24 persistently. In this way the grate
2 is joined durably to the frame
22 on the basis of the pivot hinge
33 and therefore the tilting-out function of said grate is ensured simultaneously.
[0018] On the outer rims of the pot
10 a flange
15 is shaped in which there are drain holes
16. Round the drain opening
14 of the plate
9 the shoulder
3 of the flange is shaped.
[0019] In the ground plan the durably joined assembly of the grate
2 with the frame
22 can be rotated in maximum extent of ± 15°.
[0020] The device can be shifted by 60 mm at most in transversal and/or longitudinal directions
with limitation by the rotation magnitude. Therefore, the corner bevels of the frame
22 are shaped so that with the assembly being rotated to the maximum limit of 15°, the
corner bevels abut the longer inside wall of the pot
10.
Applicability in the Industry
[0021] The solution according to the invention can be applied for all bridge structure types
including directly passed roadways or walkways and railway bridges.
