(54) Convertible transfer pump


(57) Rotary pump for liquids comprising a pump body (2) with a rotary portion that may include either a single or several stages to the purpose of attaining a head of at least 3 kg/cm2. When air at a lower pressure than the pressure of the ambient air is to be blown into the liquids, a convergent diffuser (30) is installed upstream of the pump body (2) and, furthermore, a point situated between the outflow section (34) of such diffuser and the rotary portion of the pump body (2) is connected with the outside air.
