[0001] The present invention relates to a device constructed as brush assembly for mounting
underneath a street sweeper for mainly cleaning paved surfaces, which brushing assembly
consists of a central mounting bore, weight-saving and pick-up recesses, in which
in mentioned pick-up recesses a bush with sweep construction can be mounted, in which
the mentioned sweep construction is shaped as a bundle of threaded wires or threaded
stranded wires, such as, for example, steel wire cable, in which the mentioned bush
is moulded or pressed on the end of the mentioned sweep construction.
[0002] A known similar brush device for attachment underneath a street sweeper is described
in the Dutch Patent document number 1 000 963, titled: "Brush suitable for attachment
on a street sweeper" and is also from the present applicant Van der WURF, Gerardus,
Adrianus, Hollansche Rading, The Netherlands.
[0003] Here, the known Patent description number 1 000 963 concerns a brush suitable for
mounting on a street sweeper, which brush consists of a disc in an almost horizontal
surface, in which pick-up bushes are applied which make a larger angle β with a disc,
in which by means of a springy pin the clamped-on cover of a sweeping steel cable
is fixed. Each pick-up bush has a socket, against which the mentioned cover is supported
and holds this against the centrifugal force with the springy pin, in which the larger
angle β is approximately 70 degrees. In practice it is shown, that the described brush
device has a number of disadvantages, such as that due to, for this construction necessary
large angle β of 70 degrees, the centrifugal force can cause a relative quick breakage/damage
of the sweep constructions when clamping in, due to the strong bending forces and
also causes the brushes to wear quickly due to the large angle β. Also, this construction
with springy pin to hold the cover of the sweep construction in the disc by means
of enclosed tools, does not always go without problems in the hands of less skilful
public servants or private individuals.
[0004] Further, the total construction is laborious due to the springy pin construction
and the welded pick-up bushes in the disc and therefore does not contribute to an
optimally economical producible brush assembly. In short, the known brush assembly
has several disadvantages.
[0005] The aim of the present invention concerns to provide such an improved brush assembly,
of which the above described disadvantages are eliminated and which has a longer life
(less wear and breakage) and which brush assembly can quickly and easily be changed
of bush and sweep construction and which can be produced in an economical way.
[0006] For this purpose a device as defined by appended claim 1, constructed as brushing
assembly consisting of a disc with matching bushes with sweep construction, is further
developed, wherein the concerned bush with sweep construction makes a sharp angle
α with the bottom surface of the disc in the mentioned pick-up recesses in the disc
in mounted state, in which the mentioned disc can contain at least two pick-up recesses,
which are divided in equal angles at the centre around the circumference of the disc,
in order to, in this way, form a better brush construction, in which the mentioned
pick-up recesses and bushes have a conical outward tapered cross-section with rounded
corners with an angle β, in which the wall thickness of the mentioned bush is relatively
large and rests radially with the mentioned wall thickness against the shoulder of
the outer edge of the disc for absorbing the centrifugal force in mounted state, in
which fastening or locking the mentioned bushes with sweep construction is done by
means of a compression spring load, with a nut fastening stopping device with flange,
of which the bottom side is also conical under mentioned angle α and which stopping
device with its central mounting bore with a stud with a left threaded wire by means
of mentioned nut is fixable against the mentioned disc to the street sweeper, in which
the material of the mentioned disc is flexurally strong, has a high tensile strength
and is easy to process.
[0007] The advantage is a very handy, fast and economic mountable brush assembly, that due
to a more flat position, so with a small value of the angle α of the sweep construction,
sweeps more flatly over the pavement, through which much less wear and breakage occurs,
which has been proven in practice.
[0008] Further the device according to the invention has been further developed in such
a way, that the mentioned pick-up recesses and the bushes with rounded corners for
the sweep construction have a cross-section of approximately 22 x 22mm, which tapers
outwardly under the mentioned angle β of approximately 2 degrees and that the mentioned
disc has an outer diameter of approximately 129 mm, in which the height or the thickness
of the disc is approximately 34 mm, in which the mentioned shoulder of the edge part
of the outer edge of the disc has a bended opening in order to suitably let through
or lead the sweep construction constructed as a wire bundle or steel wire cable.
[0009] The advantages are a solid disc which contains divided over the circumference maximum
six pick-up recesses for bushes with sweep constructions and that the threaded wire
bundle is bent as less as possible, so that it is not under strain of bending.
[0010] Further the device according to the invention is further developed in such a way,
that the mentioned spring loaded compression, with stopping device with flange fixable
by a nut, of which the bottom side is conically tapered under an angle α, and which
has a central bore which fits the threaded wire end with left wire M12 of the street
sweeper can be mounted by a nut.
[0011] The advantage is a handy, fast and especially thorough fixing of the bushes with
sweep construction to the mentioned disc.
[0012] Furthermore the device according to the invention is further developed in such a
way, that the mentioned material of the disc, the stopping device and the bush is
a metal, such as aluminium.
[0013] The advantage is a disc, stopping device and bush with sweep construction which are
easily and accurately to process, in which the material aluminium is flexibly stiff
and strong.
[0014] The preferred construction of the invention will be described by way of example,
and with reference to the accompanying drawing.

[0016] Figure 1 shows a bottom view of the preferred embodiment of the invention of the
disc 1 with pick-up recesses 2 for the bushes 3 with sweep construction 4. Mounting
of the bushes 3 with sweep construction 4 is shown in figures 6, 7 and 8. The pick-up
recesses 2 are equally divided over the circular surface and form an angle α of approximately
30 degrees with the bottom surface of the disc 1, so that the bushes 3 with sweep
construction 4 also make an angle of 30 degrees. Further, the disc 1 has a central
bore 5 for fixing the stopping device 6 against the bushes 3 with sweep construction
4 to the stud (not indicated) with left threaded wire of the street sweeper (also
not indicated). See also figures 2 and 6.
[0017] Figure 5 shows the conicity under an angle β of approximately 2 degrees of the pick-up
recess 4. This conicity under angle β is also indicated in figure 2 and 6, through
which the bush 3 with the sweep construction 4 loosens easily when replaced, without
sticking due to sweep dirt.
[0018] The compression spring 7 is for pushing up the stopping device 6, through which mounting
new bushes 3 with sweep construction 4 takes place fast and handy. The movements of
the stopping device 6 are indicated with arrows 8 in figure 6. For a better locking
in the pick-up recesses 2 the bushes 3 with sweep construction 4 are constructed also
conically according to an angle β = 2 degrees. See figure 8.
[0019] In figure 1 the disc 1 is also provided with recesses 9 for weight-saving. See also
figure 3.
[0020] Figure 4 again shows the stopping device 6 with preferred dimensions. As mentioned
in one of the claims, the material of disc 1, stopping device 6 and the bushes 3 are
of well processable material.
[0021] During the operation of the sweep assembly the bushes 3 will be stopped in a handy
way by the excavated edge 10 by the centrifugal force. See figures 1, 2 and 6.
[0022] With the above mentioned construction a surprisingly fast and handy to operate improved
brush assembly is created for street sweepers, which in use provides a lot gain in
time.
[0023] Finally it has to be emphasized, that the above description constitutes a preferred
embodiment of the present invention and that further variations and modifications
are still possible without departing the scope of this patent description.
1. Device constructed as brush assembly for mounting underneath a street sweeper for
mainly cleaning paved surfaces, which brush assembly comprises a disc (1) with a central
mounting bore, said disc having weight-saving (9) and pick-up recesses (2), in which
pick-up recesses a bush (3) with sweep construction (4) can be mounted, the sweep
construction being shaped as a bundle of wires or stranded wires, such as, for example,
steel wire cable, wherein the bush is moulded or pressed on the end of the sweep construction,
characterized in that, the bush (3) with sweep construction (4) makes a sharp angle α with the bottom surface
of the disc (1) in the pick-up recesses (2) in the disc (1) in mounted state, the
disc (1) containing at least two pick-up recesses (2), which are arranged of equal
angles to the centre around the circumference of the disc (1), in which the pick-up
recesses (2) and bushes (3) are respectively conical with an outward tapered longitudinal
cross section under an angle β and a transverse cross section with rounded corners,
in which the wall thickness of the bush (3) is relatively large and rests radially
with said wall against a shoulder (10) of the outer edge (11) of the disc (1) for
absorbing the centrifugal force in mounted state, wherein fastening or locking said
bushes (3) with said sweep construction (4) is done by means of a compression spring
load (7), with a nut fastening stopping device (6) with flange, of which the bottom
side is also conical under said angle α and which stopping device (6), with its central
mounting bore with a stud with left thread, by means of said nut device (6) is fixable
against the disc (1) to the street sweeper, and wherein the material of the disc (1)
is flexurally strong, has a high tensile strength and is easy to process.
2. Device as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that, the pick-up recesses (2) and the bushes (3) with rounded corners for the sweep construction
(4) have a cross-section of approximately 22 x 22 mm, which tappers outwardly under
the mentioned angle β from approximately of 2 degrees and that the disc (1) has an
outer diameter of approximately 129 mm, in which the height or the thickness of the
disc (1) is approximately 34 mm.
3. Device as claimed in claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, the shoulder of the edge part (10) of the outer edge (11) of the disc (1) has a
bended opening in order to suitably let through or lead the sweep construction (4)
constructed as a wire bundle or steel wire cable.
4. Device as claimed in claims 1 to 3, characterized in that, said angle α is preferably approximately 30 degrees.
5. Device as claimed in aforementioned claims, characterized in that, said spring loaded compression, with a stopping device (6) with flange fixable by
a nut, of which the bottom side is conically tapered under an angle α, and which has
a central bore which fits the wired end with left threaded wire M12 of the street
sweeper is mountable with a nut.
6. Device as claimed in aforementioned claims, characterized in that, the sweep construction (4) consists of a twisted steel cable with an adjustable
length of approximately 140 mm for the sweep work.
7. Device as claimed in claims 1 to 5, characterized in that, the sweep construction (4) consists of a bundle of loose threaded wires of a very
wear-resistant plastic.
8. Device as claimed in aforementioned claims, characterized in that, the quantity of pick-up recesses (2) is preferably 2, 4 or 6.
9. Device as claimed in aforementioned claims, characterized in that, the material of the disc (1), the stopping device (6) and the bush (3) is a metal,
such as aluminium.
10. Device as claimed in claims 1 to 8, characterized in that, the material of the disc (1) is a strong, well workable plastic, such as polypropylene.
1. Vorrichtung in Form eines Bürstenkomplexes für die Montage unter einer Fegemaschine
hauptsächlich zur Oberflächenreinigung befestigter Oberflächen, welcher Bürstenkomplex
eine zentrale Montagedurchbohrung umfasst, Aussparungen zur Gewichtsreduzierung und
zur Aufnahme, wobei in den genannten Aufnahmeaussparungen eine Buchse mit Fegeorgan
montiert werden kann und dieses genannte Fegeorgan die Form eines Faserbündels oder
verseilter Drähte hat, wie beispielsweise Stahldrahtkabel, wobei diese genannte Buchse
auf das Ende des genannten Fegeorgans gedrückt oder geklemmt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese Buchse (3) mit dem Fegeorgan (4) in montiertem Zustand in den genannten Aufnahmeaussparungen
(2) in der Scheibe (1) in einem rechten Winkel α zur Unterseite der Scheibe (1) steht,
wobei die genannte Scheibe (1) mindestens zwei Aufnahmeaussparungen (2) enthalten
kann, die unter gleichen Mittelpunktswinkeln über den Umriss der Scheibe (1) verteilt
sind, um auf diese Weise einen besseren Bürstenkomplex zu bilden, wobei die genannten
Aufnahmeaussparungen (2) und Buchsen (3) einen in einem Winkel β konisch nach außen
zulaufenden Querschnitt mit abgerundeten Ecken haben, wobei die Wanddicke der genannten
Buchse (3) relativ groß ist und ruht in montiertem Zustand radial mit der genannten
Wanddicke an einem Kragen (10) des Außenrandes (11) der Scheibe (1), um die Fliehkraft
aufzunehmen, wobei die Befestigung oder Verriegelung der genannten Buchsen (3) an
dem Fegeorgan (4) mit Hilfe eines mit Drucklastfeder (7) und mit einer Mutter feststellbaren
Stopporgans (6) mit Flansch erfolgt, dessen Unterseite ebenfalls konisch im genannten
Winkel α verläuft und das mit seiner zentralen Montagebohrung (5) mit einer Gewindestange
mit Linksgewinde mit Hilfe der genannten Mutter an der genannten Scheibe (1) an der
Fegemaschine zu befestigen ist, wobei das Material der genannten Scheibe (1) biegesteif
ist, eine hohe Zugkraft hat und sich gut bearbeiten lässt.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die genannten Aufnahmeaussparungen (2) und die Buchsen (3) mit abgerundeten Ecken
für das Fegeorgan (4) einen Durchmesser von ca. 22 x 22 mm haben, der konisch nach
außen in einem Winkel β von ca. 2 Grad verläuft und dass die genannte Scheibe (1)
einen Außendurchmesser von ca. 129 mm hat, wobei die Höhe oder die Dicke der Scheibe
(1) ca. 34 mm beträgt.
3. Vorrichtung nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der genannte Kragen des Randbereichs (10) des Außenrandes (11) der Scheibe (1) eine
gebogene Öffnung für den adäquaten Zugang und die Führung des Fegeorgans (4) in Form
eines Drahtbündels oder Stahldrahtkabels hat.
4. Vorrichtung nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der genannte Winkel α vorzugsweise ca. 30 Grad beträgt.
5. Vorrichtung nach den vorangegangenen Ansprüchen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das genannte mit Drucklastfeder versehene und mit einer Mutter zu befestigende Stopporgan
(6) mit Flansch, dessen Unterseite in einem Winkel α verläuft und das über eine zur
Gewindestange mit Linksgewinde M12 der Fegemaschine passende zentrale Bohrung verfügt,
mit einer Mutter zu befestigen ist.
6. Vorrichtung nach den vorangegangenen Ansprüchen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das genannte Fegeorgan (4) aus einem geflochtenen Stahlkabel mit einer je nach Fegetätigkeit
anzupassenden Länge von ca. 140 mm besteht.
7. Vorrichtung nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das genannte Fegeorgan (4) aus einem Bündel loser Fasern aus einem äußerst verschleißfest
Kunststoff besteht.
8. Vorrichtung nach den vorangegangenen Ansprüchen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zahl der Aufnahmeaussparungen (2) vorzugsweise 2, 4 oder 6 beträgt.
9. Vorrichtung nach den vorangegangenen Ansprüchen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das genannte Material der Scheibe (1), des Stopporgans (6) und der Buchse (3) ein
Metall, wie beispielsweise Aluminium, ist.
10. Vorrichtung nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das genannte Material der Scheibe (1) ein strapazierfähiger, gut zu bearbeitender
Kunststoff ist, wie beispielsweise Polypropylen u. Ä.
1. Dispositif construit sous forme d'un système de brosse pour le montage sous une machine
de type balayeuse utilisée principalement pour le nettoyage superficiel de surfaces
pavées, où ledit système de brosse possède une perforation centrale de montage et
comprend des encoches de logement et d'économie de poids, avec montage dans lesdites
encoches ou évidement de logement d'un élément de balayage surmonté d'un manchon bloqué
ou pressé, ledit élément de balayage ayant la forme de fils en faisceau ou de fils
d'acier rassemblés, fabriqué par exemple comme un morceau de câble en fil d'acier,
caractérisé en ce que ledit manchon (3) avec élément de balayage (4) forme après son montage dans lesdites
encoches de logement (2) dans le disque (1) un angle aigu α avec la surface inférieure
du disque (1), lequel disque (1) peut comporter au moins deux encoches de logement
(2), lesquelles sont réparties sur la circonférence du disque (1) avec des angles
de point central identiques, pour former ainsi un système de brosse amélïoré, lesdites
encoches de logement (2) et les manchons (3) ayant une section transversale s'effilant
en cône vers l'extérieur sous un angle β avec des angles arrondis, l'épaisseur de
paroi dudit manchon (3) étant relativement grande et reposant après leur montage de
manière radiale avec ladite épaisseur de paroi contre une épaule (10) du bord extérieur
(11) du disque (1) pour absorber la force centrifuge, le blocage ou verrouillage desdits
manchons (3) avec élément de balayage (4) étant réalisé avec un élément de verrouillage
(6) à bride à fixer avec un écrou et équipé d'un ressort d'appui (7), dont la partie
inférieure s'effile également en cône sous ledit angle α, lequel élément de verrouillage
(6) avec sa perforation centrale de montage (5) peut être fixé à la machine de type
balayeuse avec un boulon fileté avec pas de vis à gauche à l'aide dudit écrou contre
ledit disque (1), lequel disque (1) est conçu dans un matériau très résistant à la
flexion, a une résistance à la traction élevée et peut être facilement transformé.
2. Dispositif selon revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que lesdites encoches de logement (2) et les manchons (3) avec angles arrondis pour l'élément
de balayage (4) ont des sections d'environ 22x22 mm, lesquelles s'effilent en cône
vers l'extérieur sous ledit angle β d'environ 2 degrés et que ledit disque (1) a un
diamètre extérieur d'environ 129 mm, la hauteur ou l'épaisseur du disque (1) étant
d'environ 34 mm.
3. Dispositif selon revendications 1 et 2, caractérisé en ce que ladite épaule de l'élément de bordure (10) du bord extérieur (11) du disque (1) a
une ouverture coudée pour le passage et le guidage appropriés de l'élément de balayage.
(4) réalisé comme des fils en faisceau ou un câble en fil d'acier.
4. Dispositif selon revendications 1-3, caractérisé en ce que ledit angle α préférentiel est d'environ 30 degrés.
5. Dispositif selon les revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que l'élément de verrouillage (6) à bride équipé d'un ressort d'appui et à fixer avec
un écrou, dont la partie inférieure s'effile en cône sous un angle α, et qui possède
une perforation centrale adaptée au boulon fileté avec pas de vis à gauche M12 de
la machine de type balayeuse peut être fixé avec un écrou.
6. Dispositif selon les revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément de balayage est composé d'un câble d'acier tressé avec une longueur
à adapter aux travaux de balayage d'environ 140 mm.
7. Dispositif selon revendications 1-5, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément de balayage (4) est composé d'un faisceau de fils distincts en matériau
synthétique très résistant à l'usure.
8. Dispositif selon les revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que le nombre préférentiel d'encoches de logement (2) est de 2, 4 ou 6.
9. Dispositif selon les revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ledit matériau du disque (1), de l'élément de verrouillage (6) et du manchon (3)
est un métal, comme l'aluminium.
10. Dispositif selon revendications 1-8, caractérisé en ce que ledit matériau du disque (1) est un matériau synthétique résistant et facilement
transformable, comme le polypropylène ou autre.
