Support for refrigeration grilles |
(57) A support for refrigeration grilles, for example for drawer freezers and similar
appliances, consisting of horizontal bar-like conformations (6) directly provided
in the side walls (3) of the preservation compartment.
|
|
[0001] The present invention relates to the support for horizontal refrigeration grilles,
i.e. evaporator grilles used for example in drawer freezers.
[0002] In drawer freezers, each drawer is known to be nearly in contact with a section of
the evaporator. The section consists of a hairpin coil, the loops of which are joined
together by a plurality of metal rods or bars located at both the top and bottom of
the loops. This section is known colloquially as a "grille". The grilles are currently
supported on inserted supports (separate parts) fixed to the side walls of the freezer
preservation compartment.
[0003] The use of these supports involves costs relative to the supports themselves, costs
for their assembly and the cost of accessories such as screws or the like.
[0004] The invention remedies this situation by using supports represented by parts formed
directly in the side walls of the internal thermoformed enclosure of the freezer preservation
compartment.
[0005] The supports are formed simultaneously with the vacuum forming of said internal enclosure.
[0006] The supports are substantially formed on a horizontal bar-like part on which the
grille rests, i.e. towards the opening of the compartment the bar-like part presents
a projection acting as an abutment to prevent extraction of the grille. A second bar-like
part is present parallel to the first, but of smaller length, to act as a support
for the preservation drawer and define with the first a mouth for the insertion of
the grille therebetween during mounting. The abutment can also extend below the plane
of the bar-like part on which the grille rests to act as a stop to limit the extraction
travel of the drawer.
[0007] The invention will be more apparent from the ensuing detailed description provided
by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which shows a perspective
partial view of the preservation compartment of a drawer freezer and two relative
grilles and relative supports.
[0008] With reference to the figure, the reference numeral 1 indicates overall a drawer
freezer showing its preservation compartment. The preservation compartment is bounded
by an inner enclosure 2 obtained by vacuum thermoforming. The inner enclosure presents
two parallel side walls (only one is visible in the drawing) in which, during the
same forming stage as the internal enclosure, lateral guides are formed for the support
and retention of grilles positioned at different heights and indicated by 4.
[0009] The guides are indicated overall by 5 and comprise a horizontal bar-like part 6 on
which the grille 4 rests. At its front this bar-like part 6 terminates with an abutment
7 preventing involuntary extraction of the grille. Advantageously this abutment can
extend downwards with a projecting part 10 for limiting the extraction travel of a
drawer, not shown.
[0010] The guides are completed by a further horizontal bar-like part 8 for the support
and sliding of the overlying drawer. This further bar-like part 8 is parallel to the
first 4, it is of lesser length and forms with the first a channel into which to insert
the grille. The insertion operation is facilitated by the lesser axial length of the
further bar-like part 8 which leaves between the two bar-like parts a mouth adequate
for the installation of the grille by a mixed rotational and axial movement.
[0011] A preferred embodiment of the invention has been illustrated, however others can
be conceived without deviating from the same inventive concept.
1. A support for refrigeration grilles, for example for drawer freezers and similar appliances,
characterised by consisting of horizontal bar-like conformations (6) directly provided in the side
walls (3) of the preservation compartment.
2. A support as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bar-like conformations (6) terminate
at their front with an abutment (7).
3. A support as claimed in the preceding claims, wherein the abutment (7) extends downwards
(at 10) to act as a limit stop for the drawer.
4. A support as claimed in the preceding claims, wherein other horizontal bar-like conformations
(8) of lesser length are provided defining with the first (4) a mouth (9) enabling
the grille to undergo its insertion movement.
