(54) Driving device for terry motion members in cloth-shifting type pile loom

(57) In a cloth-shifting-type pile loom (1), one of drive-transmission mechanisms (20, 30) that links a supporting unit supporting a let-off-side or take-up-side terry motion member (15, 16) with a driving shaft includes at least two linking members, which may include a first linking member (22, 32, 44) and a second linking member (26, 36). The first linking member (22, 32, 44) is rotatably supported by a supporting shaft fixed in position, and the second linking member (26, 36) is connected to an end of the first linking member (22, 32, 44) proximate the supporting unit (24, 34). The first linking member (22, 32, 44) and the second linking member (26, 36) at the time of a fast-pick beating operation are connected in a manner such that a connection part between the first linking member (22, 32, 44) and the second linking member (26, 36) is positioned on or near a line extending between the supporting shaft for the first linking member (22, 32, 44) and an end of the second linking member (26, 36) proximate the supporting unit (24, 34).
