Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a curtain rod, and more particularly to a curtain rod capable of being covered with any kind of decorative wrapper.

BACKGROUND

[0002] Please refer to FIG. 1. A market available curtain rod typically constitutes a C-shaped curtain rod body 81 with an opening 811 facing downward, and a plurality of hangers 82 installed in the curtain rod body 81, capable of being hung with a curtain cloth; the curtain rod body 81 includes two rolling grooves disposed at the two sides of the opening 811 of the C-shaped curtain rod body 81; each hanger 82 includes two rollers 821 respectively positioned in the two rolling grooves 812 and a hanging hook connected to the two rollers 821. The curtain rod is generally positioned overhead; a user may see the opening 811 of the curtain rod body 81 easily because the opening 811 of the curtain rod faces downward. This curtain rod design detracts from the visual appeal of the curtain rod.

[0003] To solve the aforementioned defect, a curtain rod structure disclosed by Taiwan Patent No. M305646 proposes a solution.

[0004] Please refer to FIG. 2. The curtain rod structure includes a curtain rod body 91 and a plurality of hanging rings 92 positioned on the curtain rod body 91 and capable of being hung with a curtain cloth; a rolling groove 911 is indented downward on the upper side of the curtain rod body 91, and a roller 921 is installed on the upper side of each hanging ring, where the roller 921 can be rolled in the rolling groove 911. The hanging rings 92 can be rolled on the curtain rod body 91 when the curtain cloth is pulled.

[0005] A layer of wrapper may be covered on the curtain rod body 91 in order to increase the curtain rod's visual appeal. Generally, a film is plated on the curtain rod structure for the purpose of decoration. But, if the curtain rod 91 is to be covered with a coarse material such as leather, woven rattan or natural fiber, it is not an easy job because the rolling groove 911 of the curtain rod body 91 needs to be avoided; even if the material is forced onto the curtain rod body 91 with an effort, the cutting edge of the wrapper may still be seen, detracting from the visual appeal.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] To solve the defects mentioned above, the present invention proposes a curtain rod capable of being decorated with every kind of wrapper, in order to maximize the decorative possibilities.

[0007] The curtain rod includes:

a rod body, including:

a top face, having two opposite longitudinal sides; and

a surrounding face, extended downward from one of the longitudinal sides of the top face toward the other longitudinal side, and connected to the other longitudinal side of the top face;

wherein the top face has a chute indented on the top face and parallel to the two longitudinal sides.
Whereby, the curtain rod ensures a wrapper covers the surrounding face of the rod body, where the two opposite sides of the wrapper are respectively extended in two grooves of the rod body.

[0008] The effect of the present invention is that the rod body can be covered reliably with any kind of wrapper material, such as leather, woven rattan or any kind of cloth, and the visual appeal of the rod body is enhanced because the cutting edges of the wrapper are respectively extended in the two grooves.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] The present invention can be more fully understood by reference to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which:

[0010] FIG. 1 is a cross sectional view of a conventional curtain rod;

[0011] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of another conventional curtain rod;

[0012] FIG. 3 is a perspective view, showing a curtain rod of a first preferred embodiment according to the present invention

[0013] FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view, showing a curtain rod of the first embodiment according to the present invention; and

[0014] FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view, showing a curtain rod of a second preferred embodiment according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0015] It must be noticed that similar elements are expressed with the same number in the following specification before the present invention is detailed.

[0016] Please refer to FIGS. 3 and 4. A curtain rod of a preferred embodiment according to the present invention includes a tubular rod body 1 and a plurality of hangers 2, capable of hanging a curtain cloth.

[0017] The rod body 1 includes a top face 11 with two opposite longitudinal sides 111 and 112, and a surrounding face 12 extended downward from the longitudinal side 111 of the top face 11 toward the other longitudinal side 112 and connected to the other longitudinal side 112 of the top face 11. Viewing the rod body 1 from a cross section thereof, the top face 11 is a curved face with a raised center, and the top face 11 has a chute 13 indented downward at the center of the top face 11 and parallel to the two longitudinal sides 111 and 112, and two grooves 14 respectively positioned on the two sides of the chute 13 of the top face 11 separately. The chute is a dovetail groove with a slightly narrow opening, and the two grooves 14 are respectively indented along the two longitudinal sides 111 and 112, positioned symmetrically to a central line 5 and inclined and extended downward gradually. A user cannot easily view the chute 13 and the grooves 14 from below when the curtain rod is hung overhead, because the chute 13 and the grooves 14 are positioned on the top face 11 of the rod body 1, thereby increasing the visual appeal.

[0018] Each hangers 2 includes a circular hanging portion 21 hung on the rod body 1, a slide 22 extended downward from the top end of the hanging portion 21 and a hook 23 disposed on the bottom of the hanging portion 21 and capable of being hung with a curtain cloth. The slide 22 of the hanger 2 has an enlarged sliding mass 221 positioned on the lower end thereof; the shape and size of the sliding mass 221 are matched with the chute 13. During the assembly, the hangers 2 are put around the rod body 1 from one end of the rod body 1, and the sliding mass 221 is placed in the dovetail type chute 13 and can be slid in the chute 13; when this is done the hanger 2 cannot be taken out from the chute 13 bottom-up because the sliding mass 221 of the slide 22 gets stuck in the chute 13 owing to the narrow opening of the chute 13. Further, the hangers 2 will not be released from the rod body 1 when force is inadvertently exerted on the curtain cloth during the removal and mounting of the curtain cloth.

[0019] The curtain rod of the present invention further includes a wrapper 3 covered on the surrounding face 12 of the rod body 1. An adhesive may further be applied between the wrapper 3 and the surrounding face 12. The wrapper 3 has two cutting edges 31 and 32 at two opposite sides thereof; the two cutting edges 31 and 32 are respectively extended and retained in the two grooves 14 of the rod body 1, further causing the wrapper 3 to be fixed on the rod body 1. Assembly is therefore easy, and the product has enhanced visual appeal because the grooves 14 of the rod body 1 can accept and hide the cutting edges 31 and 32 of the wrapper 3; the two cutting edges 31 and 32 of the wrapper 3, matching the two grooves 14 of the rod body 1, is extended toward to the central line 5 and downward into the two grooves 14. This structure behaves as if it has two hooks; the wrapper 3 can be placed and attached more firmly onto the rod body 1. A material of the wrapper 3 may be woven rattan, leather, bark, cloth, PVC, natural fiber, or the like; no matter how coarse or smooth the surface is, it can still be used as a material for manufacturing the wrapper 3, allowing the entirety to assume a different appearance. It is therefore not limited to the shape and form of this embodiment as shown in the corresponding figure thereof.

[0020] Please refer to FIG. 5. Most elements and connection structures of a curtain rod of a second preferred embodiment according to the present invention are the same as the first embodiment; thus the description is hereby omitted. A difference between them is in that the cross section of the rod body 1 is square in the second embodiment. In addition, the cross section of the rod body 1 may be a circle shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, or even an ellipse, rhombus or triangle; it is not limited to the shape and structure of the embodiment shown in the corresponding figure thereof.

[0021] To sum up, a user cannot easily view the chute 13 from below, and can only see the wrapper 3 covered on the rod body 1 because the chute 13 of the rod body 1 is positioned on the top face 11 of the rod body 1. The present invention therefore has enhanced visual appeal. Furthermore, the two grooves 14 of the rod body 1 can accept and hide the cutting edges 31 and 32 at the two sides of the wrapper 3; this can increase the visual appeal of the curtain rod of the present invention.

[0022] Additional advantages and modifications will readily occur to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the invention in its broader aspects is not limited to the specific details and representative embodiments shown and described herein. Accordingly, various modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the general inventive concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
