[0001] The present invention relates to a hygienic-sanitary set comprising a toilet bowl
and toilet lid.
[0002] Toilets for the execution of physiological functions are well known in the art, having
an annular wall which defines an internal flushing space, and a toilet lid, movable
from an open position, wherein use of the toilet is possible, to a closed position,
wherein it closes at least partially the inner space. In some types of toilet bowls,
for example in the type suitable for facilitating the use by disabled persons, the
annular wall usually has a recess positioned on the front on the free rim.
[0003] The known devices have however a plurality of drawbacks.
[0004] For example the toilet lid, when placed in the closed position, does not close the
recess so that, when the sanitary fitment is not used, a portion of the annular wall
remains open, allowing the passage of odours.
[0005] It is therefore clear that the presence of the recess on one hand facilitates the
use of the toilet bowl by a disabled person, on the other hand does not allow the
efficient containment within the toilet bowl of foul odours.
[0006] The purpose of the present invention is therefore to solve the known technical problems
and, in particular, those mentioned herein before.
[0007] This purpose is achieved by a hygienic-sanitary set according to claim 1.
[0008] Further advantages may be achieved with the supplementary features of the dependent
claims.
[0009] The object of the present invention will now be described in detail, with the aid
of the attached figures, showing:
[0010] - figures 1 and 2 a hygienic-sanitary set according to the present invention, according
to a possible embodiment, in the position of use and non-use respectively;
[0011] - figures 3 and 4 a frontal and lateral view of a toilet lid according to the embodiment
of figures 1 and 2.
[0012] With reference to the above figures, reference numeral 1 globally indicates a hygienic-sanitary
set.
[0013] The hygienic-sanitary set 1 comprises a toilet bowl 2 for the execution of physiological
functions having an annular wall 3 defining an internal flushing space 4.
[0014] Furthermore, the annular wall 3 has a free rim 5 comprising a recess 6.
[0015] In other words, the free rim 5 comprises a concave portion which forms the recess
6, so that the free rim 5 displays a seating section the surface of which lies on
a plane and wherein the mentioned concave portion is positioned below the seating
section.
[0016] The hygienic-sanitary set 1 also comprises a toilet lid 7, associable to the toilet
bowl 2 to limit access to the internal flushing space 4.
[0017] Preferably, the toilet lid 7 is operatively connected to the toilet bowl 2, for example
the toilet lid 7 is hinged to the toilet bowl 2.
[0018] In other words, the toilet lid 7 is connected to the toilet bowl 2 in a way to be
movable from a vertical or use position of the toilet bowl 2 to a horizontal or non-use
position.
[0019] According to a further form of embodiment, the toilet lid 7 is reversibly detachable
from the toilet bowl 2 so that it can be easily washed and repositioned to close at
least partially the toilet bowl 2.
[0020] Furthermore, the toilet lid 7 comprises closing means suitable for overlapping the
recess 6 for closing it at least partially.
[0021] Preferably, the closing means completely overlap the recess 6.
[0022] In other words, the closing means of the toilet lid 7 make it possible to close the
toilet bowl 2 completely in order to avoid foul odours from escaping from the flushing
space.
[0023] According to a possible embodiment, the set 1 also comprises a seating board 8 suitable
for overlapping the free rim 5 to cover it and create a seat.
[0024] Preferably, the seating board 8 comprises two lateral wings 9', 9" along the seating
section. These wings 9', 9" are disconnected at the concave portion of the toilet
bowl 2.
[0025] Even more preferably, the toilet lid 7 is hinged to the seating board 8.
[0026] According to a preferred embodiment, the closing means comprise a closing portion
10 suitable for closing at least partially the recess 6.
[0027] In other words, the toilet lid is formed of an essentially flat board 13, suitable
to be placed on the free rim of the toilet bowl to cover its opening. From said board
13, the closing portion 10 projects, in a manner to be positioned in the part which
surmounts the recess.
[0028] In this manner, the closing portion 10 is positioned in the recess 6 inside the thickness
of the wall, when the toilet lid 7 is in the non-use position.
[0029] According to further embodiments, the closing portion 10 is one-pieced with the toilet
lid 7 and/or has a shape that is complementary to the recess 6.
[0030] According to the forms of embodiment wherein the toilet lid 7 is hinged, the closing
portion 10 is preferably positioned on a free-end portion of the toilet lid 7.
[0031] Preferably, the closing portion 10 is situated in a central position on the plane
of symmetry of the toilet lid 7.
[0032] According to a possible embodiment, the toilet lid 7 also comprises a circumferential
rim 11 projecting orthogonally towards the seating section, when the toilet lid 7
is in the non-use position.
[0033] Preferably, when the toilet lid 7 is in the non-use position, the circumferential
rim 11 is suitable for housing at least partially the seating board 8, in the embodiments
foreseeing it.
[0034] According to a further embodiment, the toilet lid 7 comprises at least one grip portion
12 suitable for facilitating the movement and/or handling of the toilet lid 7.
[0035] Preferably, the grip portion 12 is situated on the free-end portion of the toilet
lid 7.
[0036] Even more preferably, the closing means, the seating board 8 and/or the toilet lid
7 are in a plastic material.
[0037] Innovatively, the set of the present invention makes it possible to confine foul
odours, so that it increases the level of hygiene of the room the sanitary is located
into.
[0038] Advantageously, the set of the present invention permits a considerable ease of use
of the toilet bowl, even by people with limited physical mobility, such as the elderly
or disabled persons.
[0039] A man skilled in the art may operate numerous modifications, adjustments and substitutions
of elements with others functionally equivalent, to the embodiments of the set described
in order to satisfy contingent requirements, all moreover contained within the sphere
