    Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The invention relates to a tobacco pouch formed from a pliable sheet material. Such tobacco pouches are provided in different forms.

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A first problem of the known tobacco pouch is that during the time the tobacco pouch is used, the tobacco located in the tobacco pouch tends to lose its freshness. A second problem of the tobacco pouch is that tobacco accessories, such as cigarette paper and/or cigarette filters, stored in the tobacco pouch get dirty by the tobacco. GB 488 384 A discloses a tobacco pouch formed from a pliable sheet of material.

    SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

    [0003] The object of the tobacco pouch according the invention is to provide an improved, or at least alternative, tobacco pouch. The invention relates to a tobacco pouch formed from a pliable sheet material, wherein;
    • said tobacco pouch comprising a first compartment for holding tobacco, which first compartment has a first bottom part formed by folding the sheet material, a first front wall and a first back wall extending from the first bottom part and connected to each other along a first left side by a first left connection and along a first right side by a first right connection, which first left connection and first right connection extend from the first bottom part to a first entrance providing access to a first inner space defined by the first bottom part, the first front wall and the first back wall,
    • the sheet material of the first back wall extends beyond the first entrance to form a flap used to cover said first entrance,
    • the sheet material of the first front wall is folded at the first entrance to extend back along a first outer front surface of the first front wall and forms a second back wall of a second compartment, which second compartment has a second bottom part formed by folding the sheet material, and a second front wall, which second front wall and second back wall extend from the second bottom part and are connected to each other along a second left side by a second left connection and along a second right side by a second right connection, which second left connection and second right connection extend from the second bottom part to a second entrance providing access to a second inner space defined by the second bottom part, the second front wall and the second back wall, and
    • the tobacco pouch is formed from a single sheet of the sheet material.

[0004] According to a first aspect of the invention, tobacco can be stored in the first compartment and in the second compartment. This means that when a user starts to use the tobacco of the tobacco pouch for the first time, the user only needs to open one of the compartments to reach the tobacco. The user can subsequently continue to use that specific compartment until all the tobacco of said compartment is used. This way, the other compartment remains closed during the period that the tobacco of the as first opened compartment is used. As a result of this, the tobacco in said other compartment keeps its freshness.

[0005] According to a second aspect of the invention, tobacco is stored in the first compartment and tobacco accessories, such as cigarette paper and/or cigarette filters, are stored in the second compartment. This way, the tobacco accessories are separated from the tobacco located in the first compartment. As a result, the tobacco accessories remain clean when stored in the tobacco pouch.

[0006] The fact that the tobacco pouch is formed from a single sheet of sheet material allows it to be produced in a very fast and efficient manner.

[0007] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, the second back wall extends beyond the second entrance towards the first entrance. This facilitates that the second entrance is open by an apparatus configured to push on the part of the second back wall extending beyond the second entrance while holding the second front wall. This allows the filling of the inside space of the second compartment with tobacco. In other examples, the second compartment has another filling, such as tobacco accessories.

[0008] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, the second entrance is located at a first distance D1 from the first entrance.

[0009] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, the second entrance is located at a first distance D1 from the first entrance when seen in a direction along the second left side or the second right side of the sheet material extending between the first entrance and the second entrance .

[0010] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, a line of weakened sheet material is provided in the sheet material near or at the first entrance to manually tear the second compartment from the rest of the tobacco pouch. This has the advantage that the second compartment can be removed when it is empty. This means that the user can remove the second compartment when all the tobacco in the second compartment is used. This reduces the total volume of the tobacco pouch.

[0011] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, the sheet material is folded along a folding line to form a transition between the first front wall and the second back wall, and the line of weakened sheet material is provided near or at the folding line.

[0012] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, the line of weakened sheet material is provided in sheet material extending between the first entrance and the second entrance.

[0013] In an embodiment of the tobacco pouch according to the invention, wherein the first compartment and the second compartment are positioned on top of each other
