    Description

    Field of the Invention



    [0001] The present invention relates to water-resistant cleaning apparatus, in particular apparatus attachable to a surface such as a wall for cleaning purposes; more particularly but not exclusively apparatus for cleaning a user's back.

    Background



    [0002] Increasing numbers of users are encouraged to have showers instead of baths when bathing.

    [0003] Whilst most users enjoy bathing a common problem, particularly with showering, has been an inability to effectively clean the user's back.

    [0004] Automated systems that allow users to clean hard to reach parts of the body are typically expensive and difficult to install, requiring permanent installation through the drilling of holes in walls etc.

    Prior Art



    [0005] Accordingly a number of patent applications have been filed in an attempt to resolve the problem or similar, including the following:
    Granted United States patent US-B8631523 (Schneider) discloses a back-scratching device comprising: a base upon which a plurality of interchangeable parts. The interchangeable parts comprise: rubber nodules, bristled nodules, and spring-loaded scrubbers; wherein the spring-loaded scrubbers feature a sandpaper surface that is mounted upon a spring, which can rotate with respect to the base; wherein the rubber nodules have different sizes and shapes.

    [0006] Chinese utility model CN-U-203263245 (Hu) relates to the field of daily supplies, in particular to an electric bathing brush. A rubber band cushion is adhered to a panel between bristles of the brush and the brush handle. A rotation motor drives the bristles to clean back and forth in a crossed mode at the pores.

    [0007] United States patent application US-A-2009/241257 (Malta) discloses a shower-mounted back-scrubber device installed on the wall of a shower stall. Scrub brushes rotate and reciprocate vertically.

    [0008] United Kingdom patent application GB-A-2472064 (Williams) discloses a back scrub apparatus with a moveable washing head.

    [0009] United States patent US-B1-6996861 (Clark) discloses a cleansing and massaging apparatus mounted on a shower stall wall. It has plurality of rotating brush heads with power control.

    [0010] United States patent US-B1-7175357 (Brignoni) discloses a back scrubber device with a plurality of brushes.

    [0011] United States patent application US-A-5495632 (Baker) discloses a motorised hand held scrubber with a plurality of heads spaced by a handle.

    [0012] Japanese patent application JP-A-2003265576 (Sekisui) discloses a back washing machine having rotary heads.

    [0013] Document WO2013/012402 discloses a hand cleaner apparatus 100. The hand cleaner apparatus includes an elongate grip (120) having two ends. Each end has a scrubber area (130) and a finger scrubber notch (140).

    [0014] Devices of the prior art are either incapable of effectively easing a user's difficulty in clean their own back, or are expensive and difficult to install, requiring permanent installation so that they cannot also be easily used as handheld devices.

    Summary of the Invention



    [0015] The invention is defined by appended claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are defined by the dependent claims. Examples and embodiments of the description not falling within the scope of the claims do not form part of the invention and are provided for illustrative purposes only.

    [0016] According to an example a water-resistant cleaning apparatus comprises: a plurality of devices with moveable skin titivation heads; and at least one driving means for driving the heads, the devices are spaced apart from each other and connected together by a handle, characterised in that the driving means is activated by application of a force.

    [0017] According to another example a water-resistant cleaning apparatus comprises: at least one device comprising at least one moveable titivation head; and at least one driving means for driving at least one said titivation head, the at least one device is connected to a handle, characterised in that the driving means is activated by application of a force.

    [0018] Preferably one driving means drives one said titivation head. In other preferable embodiments one driving means drives a plurality of the heads or all of the heads.

    [0019] Advantageously the titivation head(s) operate(s) to clean skin, fur, or other surface to be scrubbed, buffed, or cleaned upon application of the force which may be applied by a user holding the handle.

    [0020] Preferably the driving means is arranged to be activated application of the force to at least one of the heads. Advantageously merely pressing one of the heads against a surface such an area of skin, fur, or other surface applies the force which activates the driving means so the head(s) is (are) driven to clean the surface.

    [0021] Preferably the driving means is arranged to be activated by application of the force to the handle. Advantageously a person holding the handle merely has to apply the force to the handle. Advantageously the force may be applied to the handle by the user holding the handle and pressing against it.

    [0022] Preferably the handle is arranged to press at least one of the heads against a surface to be cleaned so as to apply the force. Advantageously a user merely has to use the handle to press at least one the heads against their skin to make the driving means drive the head(s) and clean their skin or to clean the fur of an animal, or to clean, buff, or scrub the surface of an object.

    [0023] Preferably the cleaning apparatus comprises a switch. Preferably the switch is switched to activate the driving means by application of the force. Advantageously the driving means is activated by switching the switch on and the driving means is de-activated by switching the switch off.

    [0024] Preferably the cleaning apparatus comprises a delay means, such as a timer, which changes from one state to another after a predetermined time. Preferably the delay means is arranged to switch the switch so as to de-activate the driving means a predetermined time after the driving means is activated by switching the switch.

    [0025] Preferably the cleaning apparatus comprises a speed regulator. Preferably the speed regulator regulates the driving means. Preferably the speed regulator regulates the speed of the driving means. As the driving means drives the heads, the speed regulator regulates the speed that the heads are driven, or at least one of the head is driven, by the driving means.

    [0026] In an alternative embodiment the speed regulator only regulates the speed of the heads. For example the speed regulator may comprises a clutch that limits the speed the driving means moves the heads.

    [0027] Preferably the apparatus comprises a speed regulator which is arranged to regulate the speed of at least one of the heads according to the force applied to the head. Advantageously a person merely needed to apply more force by pressing harder against the head to cause the head to move faster.

    [0028] Preferably the speed regulator regulates the speed of the speed that the heads, or at least one of the heads, moves so that the speed undulates.

In an alternative embodiment the speed regulator limits voltage the power source supplies. Advantageously where the switch and the speed regulator are an integral unit, the speed regulator is an efficient and inexpensive unit for activating and de-activating the driving means and regulating the speed of the heads by regulating the speed of driving unit.

    [0031] Not according to the invention, the speed regulator is a hydraulic device. Preferably the speed regulator limits a flow rate or a pressure of fluid provided to the driving means. Preferably the speed regulator is a valve which restricts flow or pressure of the fluid provided to the driving means. In an alternative preferred embodiment the speed regulator is a bypass gate which diverts some or all of the fluid from being provided to the driving means.

Not according to the invention, a simple arrangement of the switch is possible whereby the force is applied to the device to make the switch activate the driving means.

Preferably the channel or conduit comprises two hydraulic connections where preferably one of the connections is adapted for connecting to supply of hot liquid, such as hot water. Preferably the other connection is adapted for connecting to a supply of cold water. Advantageously the hot and cold water mix in the conduit to provide a supply of warm water. Preferably in use liquid is delivered through the conduit to the head through which it exits for effective cleaning. Preferably in use liquid is delivered through the conduit to an opening proximate to the head for effective cleaning.

    Claims

    1. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus comprises: a plurality of devices (100) each device comprising a moveable skin titivation head (1), the head (1) is temporarily attached to a case (10); and an electric motor (12) having a rotary spindle parallel to a rotary axis of the case (10) for driving the head (1), the devices (100) are spaced apart from each other and connected together by a handle (2), wherein the electric motor (12) is activated by application of a force to at least one of the heads (1), wherein each case (10) covers a housing (61) which in use shields the motor (12) from water, wherein the case (10) is slidably connected to the rotary spindle by gear teeth (101) on the case (10) engaged with gear teeth (11) on the rotary spindle so the case (10) slides parallel to the rotary axis toward the motor (12) under application of the force which activates the motor (12) by switching a switch.
     
    2. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the devices (100) comprises the switch.
     
    3. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim wherein the switch comprises a resiliently deformable means which urges the switch to de-activate the motor (12).
     
    4. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim wherein the switch is an electric switch to electrically activate the motor (12).
     
    5. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim comprising a speed regulator arranged to regulate the speed of at least one of the heads (1) according to the force applied the at least one of the heads (1).
     
    6. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim comprising an integral power source (13) arranged to provide power to the motor (12) via the switch.
     
    7. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim wherein the handle (2) comprises a bridge between two devices (100).
     
    8. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim wherein the heads (1) are temporarily attached to the case (10).
     
    9. A water-resistant cleaning apparatus according to any preceding claim comprising at least one temporary attachment mechanism (3) arranged in use for attaching the apparatus (100) to a surface.
     


    Ansprüche

    1. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät, das Folgendes umfasst: mehrere Vorrichtungen (100), wobei jede Vorrichtung Folgendes umfasst: einen beweglichen Hautverschönerungskopf (1), wobei der Kopf vorübergehend an einer Schale (10) befestigt ist; und einen Elektromotor (12) mit einer Drehspindel parallel zu einer Drehachse der Schale (10) zum Antreiben des Kopfs (1), wobei die Vorrichtungen (100) voneinander beabstandet und durch einen Griff (2) miteinander verbunden sind, wobei der Elektromotor (12) durch Aufbringen einer Kraft auf wenigstens einen der Köpfe (1) aktiviert wird, wobei jede Schale (10) ein Gehäuse (61) abdeckt, das beim Gebrauch den Motor (12) vor Wasser abschirmt, wobei die Schale (10) durch Zahnradzähne (101) an der Schale (10) im Eingriff mit Zahnradzähnen (11) an der Drehspindel gleitfähig mit der Drehspindel verbunden ist, so dass die Schale (10) parallel zur Drehachse in Richtung des Motors (12) unter Anwendung der Kraft gleitet, die den Motor (12) durch Schalten eines Schalters aktiviert.
     
    2. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach Anspruch 1, wobei wenigstens eines der Geräte (100) den Schalter umfasst.
     
    3. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei der Schalter ein elastisch verformbares Mittel umfasst, das den Schalter zum Deaktivieren des Motors (12) drängt.
     
    4. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei der Schalter ein elektrischer Schalter zum elektrischen Aktivieren des Motors (12) ist.
     
    5. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, das einen Geschwindigkeitsregler umfasst, ausgelegt zum Regeln der Geschwindigkeit von wenigstens einem der Köpfe (1) gemäß der auf wenigstens einen der Köpfe (1) aufgebrachten Kraft.
     
    6. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem der Ansprüche 3 bis 19, das eine integrierte Stromquelle (13) umfasst, ausgelegt zum Zuführen von Strom zum Motor (12) über den Schalter.
     
    7. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei der Griff (2) eine Brücke zwischen zwei Vorrichtungen (100) umfasst.
     
    8. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei die Köpfe (1) vorübergehend an der Schale (10) angebracht sind.
     
    9. Wasserbeständiges Reinigungsgerät nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, das wenigstens einen vorübergehenden Befestigungsmechanismus (3) umfasst, der beim Gebrauch zum Befestigen des Geräts (100) an einer Oberfläche ausgelegt ist.
     


    Revendications

    1. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau comprend : une pluralité de dispositifs (100) chaque dispositif comprenant une tête d'activation de la peau mobile (1), la tête est fixée temporairement à un boîtier (10) ; et un moteur électrique (12) ayant une broche rotative parallèle à un axe rotatif du boîtier (10) pour entraîner la tête (1), les dispositifs (100) sont espacés les uns des autres et reliés ensemble par une poignée (2), dans lequel le moteur électrique (12) est activé par l'application d'une force à une ou plusieurs têtes (1), dans lequel chaque boîtier (10) couvre un logement (61) lequel, lors de l'utilisation, protège le moteur (12) contre l'eau, dans lequel le boîtier (10) est relié de manière coulissante à la broche rotative par des dents d'engrenage (101) situées sur le boîtier (10) mises en prise avec des dents d'engrenage (11) situées sur la broche rotative de telle sorte que le boîtier (10) coulisse parallèlement à l'axe rotatif vers le moteur (12) sous l'application de la force qui active le moteur (12) en commutant un commutateur.

    3. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, dans lequel le commutateur comprend un moyen déformable de manière élastique qui pousse le commutateur pour désactiver le moteur (12).
     
    4. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, dans lequel le commutateur est un commutateur électrique pour activer électriquement le moteur (12).
     
    5. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, comprenant un régulateur de vitesse agencé pour réguler la vitesse d'une ou plusieurs têtes (1) en fonction de la force appliquée à la ou les têtes (1).
     
    6. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications 3 à 19, comprenant une source d'alimentation électrique intégrée (13) agencée pour fournir une alimentation électrique au moteur (12) par le biais du commutateur.
     
    7. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, dans lequel la poignée (2) comprend un pont entre deux dispositifs (100).
     
    8. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, dans lequel les têtes (1) sont fixées temporairement au boîtier (10).
     
    9. Un appareil de nettoyage résistant à l'eau selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédente, comprenant un ou plusieurs mécanismes de fixation temporaires (3) agencés, lors de l'utilisation, pour fixer l'appareil (100) à une surface.
