    (54) Metal door frame

    (57) A door frame for bricking in, comprising two side members (1) made from sheet metal shaped to U-like form, the open sides of which members being directed outwards and a sill member (2) consisting of a flat strip of metal with a number of oblong apertures (3) in one or both ends, corresponding to different usual breadthes of the door frame, whereby the lower ends of the side members (1) can be connected to the sill member (2) by means of U-shaped clips (4), the legs of which fit within the legs of the side members (1) and the bottom of which is provided with lips (5), which can be passed through an oblong aperture (3) in the sill member (2), after which the clip may be rotated over 90°.

    Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a door framefor bricking in, comprising two side members, a doorhead member and a sill member, the side members and the doorhead member being made from sheet metal shaped to U-like form, the open sides of which members being directed outwards and the members being connected in the upper corners.

[0002] Such a door frame is commonly known in practice. Owing to the fact, that such a door frame can have different breadthes it is necessary for each door frame breadth to apply another sill member.

[0003] The invention tries to avoid this disadvantage, and this effect is obtained in that the sill member consists of a flat strip of metal with a number of oblong apertures in one or both ends, corresponding to different usual breadthes of the door frame, whereby the lower ends of the side members can be connected to the sill member by means of U-shaped clips, the legs of which fit within the legs of the side members and the bottom of which is provided with lips, which can be passed through an oblong aperture in the sill member, after which the clip may be rotated over 90°.

[0004] The invention also relates to a sill member for such a door frame, which sill member consists of a flat strip of metal with a number of oblong apertures at one or both ends.

[0005] In this way it is possible to use one type of sill member for different frame breadthes.

[0006] The invention will now be declared with reference to the drawing, in which

    [0007]

fig. 1 shows the lower end of a side member with therein a clip or shoe connecting the side member to the sill member; and

fig. 2 shows a cross section over the line II-II of fig. 1.

[0008] At the building place the lower ends of the side members have to be connected to a sill member. According to the invention one length of sill member can be used for different breadthes of door frames. One end of this sill member is indicated with the reference number 2 in fig. 2. On one or both ends this sill member constiing of flat metal strip comprises a number of oblong apertures 3, for instance three. These apertures correspond to the standard breadthes of the door frames. The lower ends of the side members 1 are connected to the sill member 2 by means of U-shaped clips or shoes 4. In the bottom of each shoe 4 a number of lips 5 are pressed. At mounting the shoes 4 are arranged parallel to the sill member 2. The lips 5 are then passed through the correct aperture 3, after which the shoe 4 is rotated over 90° to the position shown in fig. 1 and 2..In this position both shoes 4 may be fitted in the lower ends of the side members 1.

[0009] In fig. 2 also the door 6 is shown symmetically.

    Claims
