(54) Xerographic copier including controllable erase system


(57) An edge erase system (83) including a plurality of light sources is positioned adjacent the photoconductor of a xerographic copier. In addition to its edge erase function, the erase system can be controlled by a control system (85, 86) to effect the formation of graphical or alphanumeric information adjacent the image area.
