(54) A pack for cooling towers


(57) The invention relates to a film pack for use in wet cooling towers in which a heated liquid, forming a film on sheets forming the pack, is cooled evaporatively by natural or induced air flow through the pack. The pack of the invention is particularly made up of a plurality of asbestos cement spaced apart sheet elements having intermediate elements disposed between them. The intermediate elements serve to increase the effective surface area of the pack for a liquid film to form on and can also serve as spacers for spacing apart the asbestos cement sheet elements.
