(54) Numerical control method


(57) A numerical control method for application to a numerical control device for prereading the numerical control data in a succeeding block during the execution of numerical control. A plurality of line segments, each specified by a block of numerical control data, approximate a curve. When the length of a line segment is less than a prescribed length in conformance with a required machining precision, control of movement of a member such as a tool based on the data specifying said line segment is skipped. This eliminates intermittent tool movement. a decline in machining precision, as prevents damage to the machine tool.
