Fuel admixture for a catalytic combustor |
(57) A fuel admixture for use in a catalytic combustor steam generating plant comprises
a non-combustible diluent, e.g. water or carbon dioxide, mixed with carbonaceous fuel
in a thermally self-extinguishing mass ratio. In the case of a liquid/liquid mixture,
the mixture may be emulsified and may include stabilizers. The mixture preferably
has an adiabatic flame temperature below the upper temperature stability limit of
the catalyst and above the light-off temperature of the catalyst.
