(57) A method and apparatus for grinding pulpwood and/or wood chips, in which the force
urging the wood against the grinding surface arises centrifugally and utilising this
force to promote uniform and pressurised water spray against the internal grinding
surface.
The grinder (10) includes a cylindrical internal grinding surface (22) and a coaxial
rotor (28,30) the rotor having a central cavity and defining at least one pocket through
which material in the central cavity can contact the grinding surface and means for
applying water to the grinding surface.
