(54) Liquid applicator apparatus


(57) Disclosed herein is a liquid applicator apparatus comprising a liquid dispensing nozzle (34;202) and a solvent- containing sump (66;212) in which the tip of the nozzle is stored to prevent nozzle clogging during periods of non-use. To simplify movement of the nozzle from its stored position to its liquid-dispensing position, the sump is movably (e.g. slidably or pivotally) mounted for movement away from the path of movement of the nozzle. Means (38,74,80,88; 228,236) are provided for coordinating the respective movements of the nozzle and sump.
