Polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber and process for producing the same |
(57) A polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber having both high Young's modulus and high
tensile strength is disclosed along with a method for producing the same. The fiber
is produced by winding an infusibilized polyacrylonitrile fiber onto a stable bobbin,
carbonizing the fiber on the bobbin and subjecting the carbonized fiber to a heat
treatment in a threadline operation.
