(57) The invention provides labelling aparatus and a method of applying labels to articles.
The labelling apparatus comprises an adhesive applying station (2) and a label applying
station (3), means (7) for successively transporting plain paper labels from a supply
thereof first to the adhesive applying station (2) and then to the label applying
station (3), means at said adhesive applying station for applying adhesive to a surface
of each label, means for successively transporting articles to be labelled to said
label applying station, and means at said label applying station for applying the
labels with adhesive thereon to said articles.
