(57) Electrically operated water-containing apparatus, for example steam smoothers are described. A particular geometrical construction provides inherent electrical safety features and additionally prevents overfilling. In one embodiment the electrical members (19, 15) are at one end of the device while a filling chamber (12) is located at the other.
