(57) A method and apparatus for setting the diameter and location of tooling in turning machines wherein a datum bushing 88 is used as a reference point for serially positioning a plurality of datum gauges 74-78 with the tooling for each machining position adjusted with respect to specific datum points, faces or surfaces on a respective gauge.
