(57) The present invention relates to a rail switch for a rail turnout or crossing interposed at a junction between a set of rails said switch comprising a stock rail pivotally mounted such that one free end at least is moveable between at least two end positions wherein, at each end position, the stock rail is in line with a pair of opposed rails of said set of rails.
