(57) A structural member forming a patent glazing bar comprises two identical elements
extruded from aluminium. Each element comprises a channel formed by side walls 12
and a base 11, and the side walls of the two elements serve to grip the margins of
single or double glazing panels 24. Between the side walls, two limbs 14, 15 each
with a serrated face extend into overlapping contact with the respective limbs of
the other element. The limbs can flex laterally to allow the serrated faces to ride
over each other to enable the panels 24 to be gripped. Screws 26 extending through
the base of one element into engagement with the lateral projection on a limb of the
other element draw the elements tightly on to the panels 24.
