(57) A plurality of different types of operating systems in buildings (12) organized in
geographical groups, each group having a local service office (14), are monitored
at both the local offices (14) and central office (16) for the presence of performance
conditions and conditions indicative of an alarm condition. The operating systems
are monitored by a signal processor in a master unit (18) which receives and stores
sensed parameter signals, determines transitions in the operating condition of the
systems and counts the number of transitions to provide signals indicative of system
performance, and also provides alarm signals on a transition to an alarm condition.
