The present invention relates to laminated rings which may be used as load bearing members, for example as load bearing members in items of furniture. The rings are formed from a number of laminate layers, and each laminate layer is made up of a number of sections. Each section is specially cut in order to produce a ring whose walls are angled.

The invention also relates to a method of producing the laminated rings and to a tool designed to produce the laminated rings.
