(54) Lock for refrigerator or the like which can be unlocked from inside thereof


(57) The lock has a handle unit (2) mounted on a door (1) and a keeper (4) mounted on a body frame wall (3) of the refrigerator or the like. The keeper (4) includes a movable body (7) pivotally attached and locked to a fixed set (10) and adapted to be unlocked by operation of a push rod (8) from inside the refrigerator or the like.
In order to strengthen the coupling between the fixed seat (10) and the movable body (7) and to allow easy reassembly of the fixed seat (10) and the movable body (7) a follower pin (15) on a lock shaft (14) of the fixed seat (10) is slidably urged by a spring (41) against an inclined cam surface (16). The push rod (8) operates an actuating lever (11 ) which pushes the follower pin (15), causing the lock shaft (14) to rotate and slide out of a bearing hole (13) in the movable body (7), thereby allowing the movable (7) to swivel with respect to the fixed seat (10) and thus releasing the engagement between the handle unit (2) and the keeper (4).
