(57) ] A cable truss dome is constructed from a plurality of cables (104) undertension
and compression members (106) arranged in triangles having non-common sides. The cable
truss dome is adapted for spanning large areas where the cables form a low shallow
arch which supports a flexible membrane as a covering. The triangles are kept in tension
by lowertension members attached to the lower ends of the compression members (106),
which may consist either of concentric rings (116, Fig. 2) or radial chords (152,
Fig. 16).
