(54) A method and a machine for producing a metallic ring with specially contoured surfaces from a ring-shaped blank of selected cross-section


(57) Manufacture of rings that are contoured on the edge surface and/or the faces. A blank is formed by bending a rod into annular shape and welding the edges together. This blank is then placed into a stamp-type machine wherein the blank is deformed into a ring with the desired contours, the degree of deformation being at least 10%. The invention also provides a tamp-tpye machine for making these rings.
