    (54) Liquid cleansing compositions


    (57) Liquid cleansing compositions which are cosmetically attractive, stable and which also have excellent performance properties. The compositions contain a water-soluble cellulose polymer, a solvent, a synthetic surfactant, and water as essential components and have a neat viscosity (100%) of 2,000 to 12,000 cps and a dilute viscosity (50%) of 15 to 95 cps. The compositions also contain a very low level of electrolytes.
