(54) Ink jet apparatus and method of operating the same


(57) Hot melt ink is maintained in a solid state. When ink is called for in the reservoir (18) of a scanning imaging head (10), the head is moved to a refill position coupled to the solid state ink, whereupon the ink is melted coupled into the reservoir of the imaging head.
