Liquid detergents containing surfactant, proteolytic enzyme and boric acid |
(57) @ Liquid detergent compositions containing synthetic surfactant, specific proteolytic
enzyme, boric acid or a boron compound capable of forming boric acid in the composition,
and calcium ion are disclosed. The compositions exhibit improved enzyme stability
because boric acid stabilizes the proteases herein to a greater degree than it does
other proteases. Preferred laundry detergent compositions containing anionic surfactant
and detergency builder also provide improved cleaning performance, particularly through-the-wash,
on enzyme-sensitive stains.
